The Job

Software Developer (Java)

• Be part of our global team.
• Work as part of a valued and collaborative team.
• Report to Software Development Manager.

Your will contribute by:

• Designing, coding and testing software as part of the Agile team.
• Communicating effectively at business and technical levels.
• Updating status and technical documents in Jira.
• Keeping the build green.
• Troubleshooting and escalating issues when necessary.
• Participating in our R&D programme where we are using Docker, Kafka, Kubernetes, etc.

Your Skills and Experience

Our ideal person/swill have working knowledge or experience:

• Able to demonstrate software development skills appropriate to level of role -for example, you have a portfolio of existing code, sites, project or contributions.
• Strong troubleshooting, tracing and debugging skills.
• Experience and/or a willingness to code to complicated business requirements, and implementation to technical specifications.
• Having genuine commitment to getting things done.

Technically you will understand and have worked with some (or all):

• Strong Java knowledge:
  • Java or Java EE Certified.
  • Knowledge of typical patterns, core libraries and frameworks.
  • Object-Oriented Analysis, Design and Implementation skills.
• Working SQL Knowledge.
• Demonstrably strong skills in Enterprise Java, including:
  • Java Application Server technologies, including JSF 2 with Prime faces.
  • Spring and Hibernate.
  • Java messaging (e.g., Active MQ).
  • integration technologies including REST and Open API.
• Comfortable working with legacy backend when needed.
• Experienced and comfortable with:
  • Eclipse as the main IDE.
  • Working in an Agile environment (we use JIRA).
  • Current Windows experience and you know your way around Linux with reasonable scripting skills.

Working Environment & Physical Demands:

• The role requires a significant amount of sitting at office and work desks and in front of a computer monitor.
• Regularly required to verbally communicate, listen and give presentations as needed.
• Some walking and standing relative to interaction with other personnel and applicants.
• General office environment: Works generally at a desk in a well-lighted, air-conditioned cubicle/office, with moderatenoise levels.
• Work from home may be required.
• Periods of stress may occur.
