We are looking now for a Packaging Area Leader to join our amazing team in Bowling Green, KY and contribute to changing the lives of millions of pets around the world.

This role efficiently leads Operators Processing and Operators Packaging, production activities and developing collaborative partnerships with colleagues. Delivering the agreed to business and plant results while maintaining positive employee relations. The primary accountabilities of the role include daily production schedule adherence, quality, EHS, logistics, production financial performance, labor relations, people and team development.

Core Responsibilities:

Accountable for the quality and efficiency of the production department, and its ability to deliver high levels of service to internal and external customers
Lead the people, materials and equipment to deliver maintenance performance objectives, as measured by plant metrics.
Manage Production (Managing the process of converting raw materials into finished goods)
Manage Materials and Services (Understands the relationship that operations, planning, logistics and manufacturing processes have on material and conversion costs and utilization in the area)
Continuous Improvement: (Conducts Continuous Improvement Reviews to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement.)
Operational Excellence Leadership-(Demonstrating the leadership values inherent in our EOHS, Quality and FP&R principles and systems)
Supply Chain Systems & Analysis: (Leveraging analytical tools and business data to improve total performance of the Supply Chain)
Run the Performance Enhancement Process when subordinates do not meet the expectations
Handle absenteeism as Case Manager in cooperation with HR Tracks and analyzes variances associated with materials or finished products
Ensure compliance with policies/procedures for staffing, shift schedule, vacation scheduling, and training to meet business needs including peak production periods
Lead the development and implementation of the daily production schedule in a way that ensures high levels of service to internal and external customers
Identify, recommend and implement manufacturing cost reduction programs Executes new technology within the production area
Delivering input on both capital and operating budgets Communicates and implements the local Supply Chain vision, mission, strategy and objectives.
Ensure effective communication within the teams
Empower subordinates by way of training, information sharing, coaching, feedback, appraisals and delegation, to ensure the development of people, teams and organizational capabilities
Implement FP&R and other continuous improvement programs.
Implement strategies within the production department to consistently manufacture and ensure the quality of finished goods
Develop and implement appropriate margin improvement initiatives
Accountable for adhering to CP/Hill's, local and governmental guidelines related to EHS, Quality and Regulatory
Participate in driving the employee engagement strategy to maintain positive employee relations

Required Qualifications

Experience

At least 5 years of people management experience in Food Production or Quality Systems
At least 5 years of Technical proficiency including:
- Experience using ROI, Continuous Improvement Tools
- Training others conflict resolution
- Presentation skills
- Understanding of financial measures
- SAP
- Standards, weights and measure requirements
- AIB, FDA, USDA and other regulatory agency design requirements
- Proficient in Statistical Process Control, CPk and Continuous Improvement Methodologies

Education

Technical Degree, Business Degree and or Finance Degree will be strongly preferred

Salary Range $88,800 - $131,250 USD
