As a Junior Product Owner, you will support the delivery of a product area under the guidance of the Product Manager and senior Product Owners - from contributing to backlog grooming and sprint ceremonies to helping translate business needs into clear user stories. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, build foundational product skills, and grow your ability to drive meaningful outcomes in a fast-paced, growth-stage e-commerce environment.
Responsibilities:
Product Area Support: Support the Product Manager and senior Product Owners in managing a defined product area. Help translate product vision, strategy, and business objectives into a well-groomed, prioritized backlog that reflects customer needs and delivers measurable business value.
Strategic Learning: Develop an understanding of product strategy and business goals. Learn to identify opportunities, contribute data-informed observations, and build awareness of OKRs/KPIs to support informed decision-making alongside the Product Manager.
Voice of the Users: Develop deep, evidence-based understanding of user needs, pain points, and opportunities through research, data analysis, and direct interaction. Champion the customer perspective and frame problems clearly for the team.
Backlog Contribution: Actively contribute to backlog management - writing and refining user stories, defining clear acceptance criteria, and helping keep the backlog transparent, prioritized, and ready for development under the guidance of senior team members.
Delivery Support: Actively participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews. Support the team by providing clear context on user stories and help communicate the "why" behind features under the direction of the Product Manager.
Stakeholder Management: Work collaboratively across functions - engineering, commercial, and operations - to support alignment on priorities, understand trade - offs, and contribute to timely, well-reasoned decisions with guidance from senior team members.
Value Maximization: Learn to evaluate the potential value of backlog items and support prioritization decisions to maximize delivery of impactful features. Contribute to measuring post-launch impact and iterating based on findings.
Continuous Learning: Actively seek feedback and learning opportunities. Embrace best practices from senior team members, participate in knowledge-sharing sessions, and continuously develop your product craft and domain knowledge.
Documentation: Create and maintain clear, concise product documentation including user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
Startup Agility: Embrace the flexibility of a growth-stage e-commerce environment, readily contributing to other business activities as needed to support our scaling efforts and disrupt the industry.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
Experience:
2+ years of professional experience as a Product Owner,
Business Analyst, or in a closely related product or technology role.
A strong product mindset with a genuine passion for understanding user needs and building valuable products.
Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements and user needs into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
Foundational understanding of agile development principles and practices with a willingness to deepen this knowledge on the job.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
Developing analytical and problem-solving skills, with a curiosity to use data to understand problems and support prioritization decisions.
