Job summary
Ensure the Company's operations are fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations, while providing timely, practical, and business-oriented legal advice to management and business team/dept.
Responsibilities and accountabilities
- Provide legal advice to the Members' Council, Board of Management, and business units to ensure compliance and support business objectives.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, legal documents, and licensing dossiers.
- Conduct legal reviews and assessments of products, services, and core business activities (e.g. brokerage, margin lending, proprietary trading, investment banking, operation).
- Develop, review, and update internal regulations, policies, procedures, and templates.
- Identify, assess, and provide recommendations on legal risks arising from business operations.
- Coordinate with Risk Management and Compliance functions to ensure proper legal risk control and regulatory compliance.
- Support dispute resolution matters and coordinate with external counsel in litigation or legal proceedings when required.
- Monitor, analyze, and disseminate legal and regulatory updates relevant to the Company.
- Fulfill the information disclosure obligations as required.
- Provide legal support for strategic projects, new business initiatives, and corporate restructuring activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Line Manager or Management.
