The Manager - Accounting is responsible for all accounting activities in Vietnam, including accounts payable, accrued liabilities, fixed assets, and other general ledger items, and coordinates the execution of such activities with the accounting shared service center (or "SSC"). This associate also coordinates with external accounting service providers and auditors to ensure compliance with local statutory accounting and tax requirements, including the preparation of the local financial statements. The role ensures strict observance of SOX internal controls, SOA guidelines, and other compliance activities. This associate provides local support, as needed, to other finance teams, such as tax, treasury, reporting, and analysis. Outside of finance and accounting, this associate is a key contact for all other business partners and departments in Vietnam to support them, as needed, from an accounting and/or finance perspective and to ensure they have the information needed to make informed business decisions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the local accounting team
- Develop and implement robust and SOX compliant accounting processes
- Maintain local compliance functions with regards to SOX controls, accounting policies, document retention, and other requirements
- Assist the corporate accounting and SSC teams with the month-end close process
- Work proactively and collaborately with the SSC accounts payable team to ensure that invocies are processed and paid in a timely manner
- Coordinate the accounting and validation of local fixed assets with the fixed asset team
- Coordinate the execution of Vietnam accounting activities with the SSC, including the review of journal entries and/or reconciliations
- Communicate key accounting transactions and other finance matters to the corporate accouting team and local management
- Work with external accounting service providers and auditors as well as the statutory reporting team to prepare, review, and complete the local statutory financial statements, including the associated audit
- Sign the financial statements and other key documents as the company's Chief Accountant as well as executing other functions associated with this designated role
- Support other finance teams, such as tax, treasury, reporting, and analysis with regards to local Vietnam matters
- Service as key contact for all other business partners and departments in Vietnam and support them from an accounting and/or finance perspective, including participating in key local management meetings
- Other responsibilities as assigned
