BASIC FUNCTION OF THE JOB
Work as Technical Leader to lead diverse group of teams made of different technical backgrounds and expertise to troubleshoot process and product related problems. Work with
designers/customers to review and implement technical knowledge into new products and processes that impact functional results. Act as a mechanical process expert in manufacturing.
Observe manufacturing processes and work closely with operators/engineers to understand processes, propose technical projects, and develop process robustness. Review process data, conduct analysis and complex tests using Design of Experiment principles to investigate root causes, lead teams to propose solutions, and follow up on corrective actions.
Work with international experts to support process development, contribute new process development strategies, and provide support for customer quality issues related to thermoelectric devices and components at customer sites.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1-Mechanical Engineering Leadership & Process Excellence - 40%
• Lead the team to find solutions to improve/fix issues related to mechanical processes, such as Printing, Slicing, dicing, and TAN Process.
• Provide mechanical engineering expertise for capital projects, studies, and plant issues.
• Lead efforts to develop and maintain the knowledge and skill level of engineers, maintenance, and technician support groups in mechanical processes.
• Directly participate in developing, qualifying, and operating equipment used to make elements and ceramics.
• Work with the design group to resolve internal and external questions regarding mechanical and assembly methods related to products.
• Troubleshoot major online issues or customer complaints and provide advice for short- and long-term corrective actions.
• Establish and delegate changing priorities and take the lead in allocating and effectively utilizing resources.
• Directly participate in developing and qualifying new materials and new products.
• Provide specific technical expertise to support special projects, pilot operations, and product and process improvements.
• Write and review engineering reports, participate in proposal writing, lead complex group discussions, and organize and direct effective meetings.
2-Process Control, Compliance & Operational Leadership - 25%
• Monitor process parameters to ensure that process capabilities are maintained.
• Provide coaching and training to the team for timely problem solving and selecting the right solutions to ensure continuous production.
• Review with PPM staff to create a maintenance program for each machine.
• Receive, evaluate, and process technical feedback and suggestions from the production team and relevant departments.
• Lead the group in responsibilities and delegate objectives and tasks to achieve goals.
• Be responsible and authorized to answer and discuss with auditors and customers regarding discrepancies or conformities identified during audits. Ensure necessary corrections and corrective actions are implemented on time, review their effectiveness to prevent recurrence, and define training needs for on-the-job training, quality, EHS training, or other training.
3-Technical Communication and Collaboration - 10%
• Develop relationships with technology suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and technology experts.
• Work with CTS experts to review and update operation/troubleshooting guidelines for processes.
• Communicate effectively with local and offshore engineering groups to develop effective methods supporting low- and high-volume production capabilities.
• Proactively track team commitment and provide timely feedback.
• Work across the organization to effectively complete programs and projects on time.
4-Supervision, Management and Leadership - 15%
• Ensure the team is staffed, motivated, inspired, engaged, and empowered to deliver high and sustainable performance in an ever-changing environment at a sustainable cost level that reflects market realities.
• Ensure the right people are in the right jobs by consistently using proper interview and selection techniques and methodologies.
• Ensure a learning environment is in place and that the team is trained and developed to consistently achieve organizational expectations in both the short and long terms.
• Ensure the Performance Management Process is fully operating with meaningful stretch goals for all employees, with ongoing development-focused feedback and 100% On Time Delivery.
• Ensure a free flow of two-way information so the organization can work effectively and communication channels remain active and open.
• Ensure an accident-free environment by following all EHS policies and procedures, maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment, and promoting the attitude that all accidents are preventable.
