The Merchandise Manager is responsible for developing and executing merchandise strategies within the golf industry, covering product categories such as caps, balls, bags, apparel, and related accessories. This role oversees seasonal merchandise planning, product selection, inventory control, vendor communication, brand presentation, and sales performance across all sales channels.
The objective is to maximize business efficiency, enhance customer experience, and ensure consistent brand representation in the Vietnam market.
Key ResponsibilitiesA. Product Planning & Merchandise Strategy
Develop annual and seasonal merchandise plans aligned with brand guidelines and golf market trends.
Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer behavior studies to optimize product mix.
Plan new collection launches, seasonal drops, and limited-edition product releases.
B. Inventory & Order Management
Forecast demand using historical sales data, market trends, and seasonal factors.
Maintain optimal inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess stock.
Conduct periodic stock audits to ensure accuracy.
Monitor product life cycles and optimize stock rotation.
C. Supplier Coordination & International Brand Standards
Coordinate with international suppliers regarding ordering, product plans, delivery schedules, and quality control.
Ensure all merchandise meets brand standards for quality, labeling, and packaging.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery or product quality.
D. Merchandising & Retail Operations
Develop display standards for retail stores, pro shops, showrooms, and event booths.
Conduct routine checks to ensure brand-consistent merchandising execution.
Support sales activities during golf tournaments, demo days, events, and promotions.
Work closely with Marketing to produce product photography, content, and campaign assets.
E. Sales Planning & Performance Reporting
Track weekly and monthly sales performance and analyze category-level results.
Collaborate with the sales team to drive sell-through and optimize inventory rotation.
Propose seasonal promotions, event-based offers, and incentive programs.
F. Team Leadership & Cross-functional Coordination
Collaborate effectively with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Warehouse teams.
Train
sales staff on product knowledge, especially for golf-specific categories (caps, balls, bags, apparel, accessories).
G. Golf Industry-Specific Responsibilities
Build a well-rounded product portfolio suitable for golfers of all skill levels (entry to advanced).
Develop assortment plans for each sales channel: pro shops, golf retail stores, dealerships, and e-commerce.
Coordinate product showcases at golf tournaments, club events, and community activations.
Stay updated on global golf trends related to color, materials, styles, and product technology.
Optimize key product categories based on seasonal demand and tournament cycles.
