Position Overall Description
We are looking for an experienced Middle-level Backend Engineer to join our IT team. As a Middle-Level Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of our backend systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and deploy scalable and robust backend solutions that power our applications. This role requires a strong foundation in backend development, problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality software.
Principal Accountabilities
- Apply test-driven development principles to develop, enhance, and sustain medium to large complex applications in a cloud environment
- Collaborate with customer product owners and cross-functional agile team to support working sessions and to evaluate, define, and prioritize requirements/features/user stories
- Contribute to technical research/analysis of user stories and participate in agile ceremonies including backlog grooming and sprint planning,
- Conduct unit testing and contribute to set up of automated testing while collaborating with testers to address found issues/bugs, and support team with documentation required by the client
- Support demos and provide technical support to end-users for UAT and/or production
Your Skills and Experience
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- 2+ years of professional experience in backend development.
- Proficient in backend service development with solid experience with Golang.
- Experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP. (e.g., AWS)
- Knowledge of message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pub/Sub) and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with backend frameworks (e.g., Gin, Echo,..).
- Knowledge of gRPC for efficient communication between microservices.
- Strong understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and experience with ORM frameworks.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of software development best practices including version control (Git), testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Comfortable developing in a highly collaborative agile development environment (i.e. user stories, iterative development, continuous integration, continuous delivery, shared ownership, test-driven development, etc.)
- Solid communication skills and collaborative approach with clients, team members, and partners.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with DevOps practices and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.
- Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in the developer community.
- Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced, financial environment.
- Understand the entire software development process, software development models, software project, and management process according to Agile/Scrum.
