Middle/Senior ReactJS Engineer

The ReactJS Engineer will work as part of our Innovation Engineering team who help bring these new innovation topics to life in order to test our key hypotheses, across exciting topics such as generativeAI, climate innovation, digital assets, open banking and new forms of payments. This primarily involves building small scale, time bound production incubations, leveraging many of NAB's existing technology components

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with other NAB's technology leaders towards improving and fulfilling the NAB technical direction;
• Design, develop, review, implement, and manage [protected info] application code and services for the production and pre-release environments;
• Participate in Agile software development, prototyping, and code review with international development teams to build scalable microservices-based products;
• Understand the requirements of the customer or business and utilize this knowledge to develop applications that are consistent with this;
• Work with delivery teams to achieve success through development using CI/CD and DevOps practices, processes and tooling;
• Provide robust coding practices, solid unit/component test coverage, and debugging code.
• Freedom to make architectural and code-level decisions about the component you are working on. High level solution architecture decisions will be provided.
• Peer reviews of others code, and the ability to recommend changes and challenge decisions

• 3+ years' experience working in Software Development: Solid experience in JavaScript ES6/TypeScript working with [protected info] or similar technologies ([protected info], [protected info]);
• Expert in all areas of web development (HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Foundation, JQuery, JSON) including accessibility and security concerns;
• Ability to design React applications using layout management
• Ability to leverage developer tooling, and CI/CD pipelines to deploy artefacts
• Ability to build BFF components (NodeJS)
• Experience in Cloud computing and Amazon Web Services
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs design (GraphQL desirable) and Microservices-based system;
• Strong understanding of standard Software Engineering processes, Testing, and Agile methodology;
• Well-versed in writing structured, well-documented, maintainable, and clean code;
• Strong English communication skills (both verbal & written), especially in the global software development environment.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry;
• Experience in using front-end testing and test runners (eg. Selenium, Mocha/Chai/Jest).
• Any additional certification or training in IT, Business, Computer Science, or related area.
