JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
Reporting to the Technical Art Director, the Technical Designer is responsible for translating creative concept designs into finalized artworks, meticulously prepared for manufacturing or printing. This role entails seamless collaboration with diverse parties, including creative, operations, and various development teams, to bring projects to fruition in various forms. Considering comprehensive requirements from clients, creative teams, production, and operations, the Technical Designer harmoniously merges all elements to ensure the successful realization of each project.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Foster strong collaboration and work closely with Production and Creative departments to understand art direction and requirements, translating them into feasible products.
Act as a bridge between the Creative team and the Production team, facilitating the seamless flow of design and ideas.
Take responsibility for the final artwork stage, developing 2D layouts for printing and production purposes.
Proactively anticipate problems, technical needs, and possess in-depth knowledge of how products are made.
Participate in pre-production and post-production by providing design specifications, visual support, evaluating samples for approval, creating packaging layouts, and capturing final product photos.
Ensure the accuracy of designs through meticulous drawing, sample, and artwork checking, meeting design criteria and specifications.
Maintain efficient working procedures to streamline processes.
Work under various client portfolios for career progression, determining design expertise. Senior positions may cover specific client portfolios based on requirements and expertise.
Uphold excellent individual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) under creative divisional KPI settings.
Provide reliable support to team members and team leaders. In a senior position, offer strong support directly to team leaders and other team members.
Additional:
Implementing collaboration and direct communication, especially with procurement teams and vendors, to ensure clarity and high accuracy in production outcomes.
Support the implementation of innovative solutions from hire-level by providing feedback and insights on new tools, techniques, and approaches to enhance the quality and effectiveness of outputs.
Provide engineering approach and assist in providing technical expertise in the long term by actively participating in upscaling and upgrading efforts within the organization. This may involve contributing ideas for training programs, sharing best practices, and staying updated on industry advancements.
Participate in analyzing workflow and internal standard operating procedures (SOPs) for improvement. Provide input and suggestions to Technical Art Director to identify areas for enhancement, streamline processes, and optimize efficiency, productivity, and quality in the technical design process.
REQUIREMENTS
Skill, Experience & Qualification
Qualifications: Diploma/Degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Printing Technology, Manufacturing Engineering, Applied Science Art & Design, or equivalent.
For entry-level positions, 1 or 2 years of related experience is a bonus, or open to fresh graduates. Senior positions require 2-4 years of experience.
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Proficiency in 3D Development software such as Rhinoceros & KeyShot.
Knowledge of colors, including Pantone, CMYK, and certain printing processes.
Knowledge or experience in manufacturing processes, materials, molding, or production.
Understanding of processing and producing Final Artwork.
Keen attention to detail in artworks and organizational skills for files and libraries.
Practicing a systematic approach in working procedures, communication, and documentation.

Job Summary
As the Team Lead for a dedicated Technical Design team, reporting to the Creative Director, this role is pivotal in ensuring the team achieves its goals. Responsibilities include determining the technical art direction, bridging concept designs with production requirements for accurate product realization. The focus lies on supervising and aligning the team's vision, drawing upon concept art and ideas to execute final artworks within designated timelines, requirements, and optimal resource utilization. A deep understanding of both creative and manufacturing processes is essential, emphasizing technical aspects and production requirements. Specializing in projects and managing larger scales of productivity, the position is committed to enhancing team strength, identifying areas for improvement, and fostering individual development within the team while ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
Lead a compact team of technical designers in executing day-to-day operational tasks, ensuring projects are completed successfully with high accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency.
Utilize a profound understanding of production and creative insights to align concepts with manufacturing planning.
Implement effective tactical time management and strategies to meet deadlines, proficiently managing projects and resources within the team or outsourcing tasks as needed.
Receive or seeking inquiries and translate them into technical briefings or directions, defining the appropriate methods and processes to meet manufacturing requirements for high-accuracy production output in product realization.
Serve as a prolific problem solver, contributing both creatively and technically. Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot, anticipate technical difficulties, and delegate tasks to the respective designers or within the team.

Review and verify drawings, mockups, and production samples to ensure alignment with client requirements, costing, and timelines as per production aspect and design development requirements.

REQUIREMENTS
Skills, Experience & Qualification
4 to 5 years of experience in related fields such as graphic design, print & production, creative agency, or product design and development.
Expertise in both graphic design and product design, with proficiency in 'Artificial Intelligence' considered a valuable bonus.
Education level: Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Product Design, Art & Design, or equivalent.
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc., or 3D development software and CAD for Product design.
Demonstrates mentor-ability and well-developed leadership skills, guiding and sharing technical knowledge with juniors.
Strong project and people management abilities.
Keen eye for the manufacturing process for professional design practice, color, material, and finishing with an awareness of consumer preferences and demands.
