• Research market trends and design fashion product lines
• Create detailed production instructions including size charts, detailed sewing instructions, fabric and accessory consumption rates for sample products.
• Create patterns ensuring accurate design and fit using software .
• Perform size grading from the initial pattern to the brand's standard production sizes.
• Collaborate with the sample sewing department to sew the first product, check the fit on models/mannequins, and adjust the pattern until IT meets requirements and is approved.
• Create pattern layouts and hand over patterns and technical specifications to the fabric cutting team in the production workshop using software.
• Coordinate the design of accompanying brand identity elements (logo, hangtags, neck labels, packaging zip bags).
Pattern Engineering & Block Development
- Create precise 2D patterns from sketches, tech packs, or draping - ensuring correct balance, proportion, support, and manufacturability.
- Develop and maintain core blocks for woven and knitted top and bottoms , blazers, including extended size ranges.
- Translate design intent into structurally sound, production-ready patterns.Provide costing consumption.
Pattern Development & Fit Validation
- Lead pattern refinements through Proto → SMS → PP → PPS stages.
- Lead fit sessions across base size and size sets to ensure consistency and comfort.
- Diagnose fit issues using root-cause analysis (pattern vs grading vs material vs construction).
- Review vendor patterns and samples; provide clear technical corrections.
Construction & Technical Guidance:
- Define construction methods, seam allowances, and finishing requirements directly into patterns.
- Provide technical recommendations on fabric behavior, ease requirements, and shaping techniques.
- Partner with sourcing and production to ensure patterns suit factory capabilities. Connect with factory to work on the consumptions , marker related issues.
Grading & Size Expansion:
- Prepare or validate grading rules for base sizes and extended size ranges for all kind age groups
- Ensure grading maintains proper proportions and comfort for all customer profiles.
- Review vendor-graded patterns for accuracy and make necessary adjustments.
Quality Assurance & Standardization
- Conduct detailed pattern and sample quality checks before production approval.
- Ensure patterns meet buyer fit and quality standards.
- Troubleshoot issues arising during sampling or pre-production.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with buyer Fashion
Designers,
Merchandisers.
- Communicate with vendors to clarify pattern construction, corrections, and production feasibility.
- Support Customer Service and
Product owners with technical clarity on fit and quality issues.

- Analyze customer returns, reviews, and fit-related feedback.
- Update patterns, grading, or construction methods to improve customer satisfaction and reduce returns.
• Graduated in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, or related fields.
• At least 2 year of experience in designing and creating patterns for knit and woven bottoms , tops, blazers ,products
• Proficient in using pattern design and computer-aided pattern making software (Gerber, Lectra, Optitex).
• In-depth knowledge of stretch fabrics in knitted . woven plaid and striped polyester and industrial garment manufacturing techniques.
• Creative, meticulous, and capable of working independently and effectively in a team.
