You will be a crucial bridge between our Product Development, Pattern Room, Costing, Procurement, and Production teams-ensuring that every material requirement, from fabric and leather to structural components, is calculated accurately, optimally, and sustainably.

WHAT YOUR JOURNEY WITH US LOOKS LIKE (JOB DESCRIPTION)
FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE
· Accurate Costing Consumption: Calculate precise, realistic, and optimized material consumption rates (Costing Con.) for product quotations.
· Marker & Layout Optimization: Create, organize, and update nesting/layout diagrams for sampling and production efficiency.
· Data Support: Assist the Costing and Merchandising teams by providing technical material estimates and related data.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Material & Structural Analysis
· Product Understanding: Analyze bag structures, pattern components, and the physical properties of various materials (leather, fabric, lining, reinforcement, etc.).
· Spec & Pattern Verification: Cross-check paperboard/CAD pattern parts against material specifications, including:
· Material names and component codes.
· Usable width/sheet size limits and directionality (grain line/texture requirements).
· Specific cutting quality requirements for individual sections (e.g., primary vs. secondary panels).
2. Layout, Nesting & Material Calculation
· Sample Consumption Calculation: Perform layout nesting and calculate exact material usage for sample bags during development stages.
· Cutting Diagram Creation: Prepare clear, standardized layout schematics and marker diagrams as reference guides for the Cutting Department (MC/Production).
· Usage Summary Table: Create and maintain comprehensive Material Usage Summary Tables (Bill of Materials / BOM consumption).
3. Revisions & Brand Progress Tracking
· Pattern Modification Tracking: Work closely with the Pattern Room (Sample Room) to follow up on pattern changes and promptly update material consumption figures.
· Brand Timeline Alignment: Provide accurate, timely material usage feedback in accordance with specific brand development schedules and deadlines.
4. Production Support & On-Site Troubleshooting
· Actual Yield Monitoring: Follow up with the cutting room on actual production yields and cutting consumption.
· Abnormality Handling: Investigate and resolve cutting discrepancies, high wastage rates, or material defect issues on-site.
