1.JOB CONTEXT
Damen Song Cam Shipyard Co., Ltd (DSCS) is a joint venture between Damen Workboats in the Netherlands (70%) and Song Cam Shipyard (30%), member of SBIC and based in Haiphong, Vietnam. At a 42 hectares site just outside Haiphong, Damen Song Cam is a strategic and preferred production location within the Damen Workboats to produce tug- and workboats up to 60 meters. At the moment the shipyard is a dedicated outfitting shipyard: up to 40 hulls are procured from our partner shipyards. DSCS is performing outfitting, commissioning and delivery to clients worldwide. The strategy to grow is successful. Growth in volume, expanding the product portfolio, expanding other maritime activities (services, supervision) within the group.
Planning session is responsible for all tasks including the creation, development and execution of the supply chain.
2. PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB
Setting up and managing integral project plans in which engineering, purchasing, logistics and production are all in sync which each other, to enable the timely supply of materials to world-wide production locations.
Creating projects planning and portfolio planning. Continuously updating planning with current project developments. Dividing budget hours into project activities. Project forecasting and progress reporting. Close cooperation with work preparation for establishing optimal activity - shop order relations.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACTIVITIES
* Developing integral project plans
Writing integral project plans, including:
- Collecting, organizing and analyzing data concerning planned projects.
- Determining extent of global supply and desired supply date based on logistic planning and demarcation.
- Creating insight on possible bottlenecks caused by the syncing of the engineering, purchasing, logistics and production departments. Finding, proposing and discussing possible solutions with the Engineering, Material Coordination, Purchasing, and Project Management departments.
- Writing integral project plans in the beginning phase of a build number in which the departments of engineering, purchasing, logistics and production are integrated.
* Manage Project Plans
Managing project plans and if necessary making adjustments, this includes:
- Periodically evaluating the progress per build number. All departments hold their own responsibility for keeping the progress up to date.
- Signaling, mapping and reporting bottlenecks and accompanying consequences for the building team and management. Also proposing solutions for said bottlenecks and consequences.
- Keeping in touch with building locations domestically as well as abroad (1 foreign language)
* Compose guide information
Composing and managing various (management) reports on portfolio level, comparing supply moments of main components with the actual planning of the supplier.
Analyzing and signaling bottlenecks in the (overall) planning and composing and proposing improvements/solutions.
* Manage planning system
Managing the planning system, this includes:
- Looking after planning system revision updates, working closely with the supplier and the ICT department. Signaling and processing necessary adjustments on functional level.
- Creating new build numbers, including project information and realizing the linkup between systems on project level.
- Optimizing/developing plans within the planning systems, (if the basis of the project plan is solid, try creating capacity plans for various departments) and looking after the capacity planning of the Material Coordination department.
- Training and supporting users of the planning system (users include project- and team leaders of various departments and several (assistant) project managers.
- Developing and managing a manual in the English Language.
