Policy Adviser (Agriculture)

Key skills, experience and personal attributes required:
• A suitable tertiary qualification (e.g. a relevant degree in economics; agriculture or other sciences; resource management; law; public policy; or a related discipline);
• Fluency in both English and Vietnamese (written and spoken);
• At least two years policy and research experience within foreign embassies, the private sector, government, or other international organisations, ideally in a diplomatic context;
• Proven research and analytical skills with emphasis on accuracy to detail and timely delivery;
• Proficiency at delivering sequential oral interpretation is preferred;
• Experience providing logistics support for visiting delegations, including setting up schedules of meetings, organising transport logistics, making hotel and flight bookings, etc.;
• Demonstrated cross-cultural awareness.
Our ideal candidate will...
• Be a self-starter and able to work creatively in a fluid and evolving context;
Have existing networks of government contacts, preferably in the foreign affairs sector;
• Have experience working with a foreign embassy;
• Excellent relationship management, analytical and problem solving skills, and English/Vietnamese written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team.
