Mô tả công việc
JOB PURPOSE
Support the learning and development of young children, typically aged 2-5 years old, in an educational setting such as a nursery or reception class in a school. Your role is to work in partnership with the class teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children to learn and play.

SUPPORT FOR STUDENTS
Teaching & Learning
- Assist teachers in developing and implementing learning activities and supervise group activities.
- Establish a constructive relationship with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
- Develop children's language in both English and Vietnamese through role modelling, play and questioning.
The Environment
- Create classroom environments that are safe and conducive to learning for young students.
- Clear away materials and aides after each class and ensure the overall cleanliness of the classroom.
- Helping to display children's work.
Pastoral Care
- Positively manage students' behaviour within the classroom and address behavioural issues appropriately, ensuring that all students are kept safe, and accidents are minimized.
- Establish positive, productive working relationships with students: Be consistent and fair; Do not show favouritism or make negative comments;
- Support children when emotional and upset in an appropriate way. Excessive bodily contact with pupils, such as kissing or cuddling, should be avoided. However, in Early Years, appropriate care may involve physically comforting a distressed child. This should only occur in an open space, in full view of colleagues and should not be more than is necessary to sooth an upset child.
- Raise self-esteem of students: Address pupils in the same way; Use positive comments; encourage independence appropriate to age and maturity.
- Assist students in handling their personal needs including toileting and washing and help them in eating lunch or snacks.
- Observe for any signs of mistreatment: emotional or physical abuse or neglect and report to the lead teacher
Health and Safety
- Observe students to detect signs of discomfort or distress, illness or injury and alert lead teacher immediately
- Never leave a child/class on their own in a room. If taking children to the nurse- leave them there and come straight back up.
- No phones switched on in the classroom and no Facebook in school hours. Only use phones in staffroom. No negative comments on FB about school; cannot be friends with parents or students; No photos of children shall be put on FB (or any other online social media site). Personal phone is not to be used for taking photos of the children.

SUPPORT FOR THE TEACHER
- Familiarize with the curriculum. Read the teacher's lesson plans, curriculum books, syllabus, etc. Design and produce displays with minimal supervision.
- Provide regular feedback to teachers on pupil achievement, progress and problems.
- Promote good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents and reporting in line with school policy.
- Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, equal opportunities, health and safety, security, confidentiality data protection and reporting all concerns to the appropriate person
