Role Overview: Technical Delivery and
Business DevelopmentThis is a senior, hands on role with two mandates. The primary mandate is technical leadership and delivery. You will lead a cross functional technical team and own the delivery of integration projects across our product suite, including the projects we run with our main bank partner. The secondary mandate is business development, where you will help expand Vietpay's payment business in line with the company's growth strategy.
The role is weighted toward technical delivery and deep payments expertise. The successful candidate is first and foremost a strong technical program leader who understands fintech, digital banking, and card issuing and acquiring at a practical level, and who can also engage commercially with banks, merchants, and partners when needed.
You will be equally comfortable in an architecture review, a bank certification call, a delivery stand up, and a commercial proposal discussion.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Mandate: Technical Team Leadership and Delivery
• Lead, mentor, and line manage a cross functional technical team spanning
software engineering, QA, integration, DevOps, and certification.
• Own end to end delivery of payment and digital banking projects across acquiring, issuing, switching, Smart POS, SoftPOS, QR, and gateway products.
• Translate commercial and product requirements into clear technical scope, architecture decisions, delivery plans, and realistic timelines.
• Set and enforce delivery standards across code quality, documentation, testing, release management, and operational readiness.
• Manage scope, schedule, budget, resourcing, dependencies, and risk across multiple concurrent projects.
• Partner with architects and
developers on solution design and integration patterns, including REST APIs, microservices, EMV, and ISO 8583 messaging.
• Drive resolution of technical blockers, make decisions under pressure, and escalate clearly when needed.
• Establish delivery governance, including milestone tracking, status reporting, risk registers, and structured stakeholder communication.
Bank Partner and Integration Delivery
• Act as the technical delivery owner for projects with Vietpay's main bank partner, from kickoff through to production and post go live support.
• Lead API integration, financial messaging, and connectivity work between Vietpay and partner banks.
• Plan and coordinate bank and scheme certification activities with Visa, Mastercard, NAPAS, JCB, UnionPay, and other partners.
• Coordinate UAT, production rollout, cutover, and go live support with both internal teams and the bank's technical teams.
• Manage the partner relationship at a working level, keeping delivery on track and expectations aligned.
Customer and Stakeholder Management
• Serve as the primary link between customers, partners, and Vietpay's internal technical teams.
• Run requirement workshops with banks and enterprise customers and convert needs into technical solutions.
• Manage stakeholder expectations across the full project lifecycle, from scoping to production.
• Facilitate technical discussions between customers and engineering, and protect delivery focus.
• Ensure customer satisfaction during implementation and through post production support.
Secondary Mandate: Business Development and Growth
• Identify and develop new business opportunities with banks, financial institutions, merchants, aggregators, and strategic partners, in line with company growth targets.
• Build and maintain long term relationships across the acquiring and payment ecosystem.
• Identify market opportunities for Smart POS, SoftPOS, QR payments, payment gateways, and issuing solutions.
• Prepare commercial proposals, RFP and RFI responses, presentations, and solution demonstrations with strong technical credibility.
• Support contract negotiations and commercial discussions, and represent Vietpay at client meetings, workshops, and industry events.
