Project Manager

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a senior public health professional for the role of Project Manager for a philanthropy-funded time-limited project. The project, titled: "E-Patient Quality and Improvement and Standardization (EQIS)" is a platform to improve the quality of healthcare, lower the cost of care and improve patient outcomes in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). In Vietnam, the project is implementing in Vinmec hospitals on maternal and hearth heatlh. It is going to be implemented in partnership with Dong Thap province, City Children Hospital, and Hanoi University of Public Health on peaditrics.
The EQIS cases are short, online clinical cases that participating healthcare workers can complete on a computer, tablet, or smartphone. Participants care for simulated cases by making specific clinical decisions relevant to patient care, including work-up, diagnosis, pharmacologic treatment, and non-pharmacologic management. Their care decisions are scored against explicit evidence-based criteria and compared to decisions made by their peers.
Within each case, participants receive customized feedback in real-time on their care decisions and suggestions on opportunities to improve the quality of their decisions. Additionally, participants can (1) compare how their care compares to their peers in each case through an anonymous leaderboard, (2) win small prizes for having the highest score in each case, and (3) optional opportunity to earn continuing education credits and certification (where allowed).
The term of the project is estimated to be 2.5 years. The position reports to the Vice Dean for Medical Education.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinating and participating with other Departments at VinUni to ensure having all legal documents needed for implementing the projects.
• Provide training and supervision for implementing the Scope of Work (SOW_EQIS) projects, in partnership with Peabody Health Philanthropies, VinUni, and other partners (Vinmec, Hanoi University of Public Health, City Children Hospital, and Dong Thap Department of Health).
• Have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Scope of Work (SOW) (EQIS) projects, in partnership with Peabody Health Philanthropies, VinUni, and other partners (Vinmec, Hanoi University of Public Health, City Children Hospital, and Dong Thap Department of Health). This includes completing specified tasks, milestones, and key deliverables in a timely manner.
• Be responsible for developing and completing clinical cases on the EQIS platform which include providing training, reviewing, supervision, and revision for the clinical.
• Oversee the project coordinator and research assistants. Assign tasks, provide performance feedback, and teach/mentor the above personnel.
• Working closely with IT team to fix bugs and improve the EQIS platform.
• Draft and submit IRB protocols if required, and submit addendums as needed.
• Organize and implement the required periodic technical trainings for the health providers and coordinators when working with partners if required.
• Be available to provide technical assistance to health providers as needed.
• Oversee the data collection and data analysis for EQIS on an ongoing basis. Work closely with project biostatistician where needed to complete project milestones.
• Organize and convene the advisory board of the EQIS project as per SOW expectations.
• Draft and solicit feedback on any manuscripts for publication and abstracts/presentations that arise out of EQIS.
• Prepare periodic reports as needed to the advisory board and donor on the progress and achievement of key milestones/deliverables.
• Organize and oversee annual research conference based on the results of EQIS.
• Other tasks as assigned when needed.
