Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Hospitality Research and Development (R&D) team, including furniture, lamps and accessories design and sample development.

Responsibilities
Supervisory Role
Supervise, coordinate and follow up daily R&D activities to ensure assigned tasks are completed on time and according to requirements.

Assign and prioritize daily tasks for

Monitor team performance and provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and support to team members.

Follow up on project and sample schedules and proactively identify delays, issues and potential risks.

Escalate significant issues to the R&D Manager / Department Head and recommend appropriate solutions.

Ensure team members follow approved SOPs, work instructions, design standards and company policies.

Coordinate with related departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth execution of R&D and sample development activities.

Provide feedback on team members' performance and support performance improvement when required.

Prepare regular work and performance reports as required.

Functional Role
Support and coordinate the design and development of furniture, lamps and accessories, considering layout, function, aesthetics, price point, materials and safety requirements.

Support Designers and Draftsmen in researching and developing design ideas, materials, hardware and finishes.

Conduct research on new materials, finishes, design techniques and applications relevant to Hospitality projects.

Work closely with the Sample Workshop, Production, Planning, Customer Service, Sales and Marketing teams to coordinate sample development.

Monitor sample development from design/drawing stage through sample completion and report any issues affecting quality, cost or timeline.

Support preparation of design presentations, drawings and sample information for internal review and customer presentation when required.

Utilize 2D/3D design software and other relevant tools to support the design and development process.

Ensure drawings, specifications and sample information are properly documented and updated.
