The Opportunity

The Asia regional office of Save the Children is based in Singapore. We are responsible for providing management oversight and support to 11+ countries in Asia. The regional finance team is responsible for financial planning and insightful analysis of the region to various stakeholders. The team plays a strategic role in the analysis of metrics, initiatives tracking and providing decision support to all country offices in Asia.

Two key components of the role:

Supporting Financial Planning and Analysis of Global Centre of Excellence
- Business Partnering with relevant staff of Global Centre of Excellence, especially on the Budgeting and the Financial Management of the Innovation Fund.
- Providing support to Innovation Fund Awards Budgetholders
Planning and Control of staff cost budget and funding for ARO staff
- Partner with other ARO department heads to build upon staff costing and funding for Budget and Forecast
- Work with ARO Accounting Manager to ensure cost recovery are made timely.

Your role will be to support the finance team in the region helping them to consolidate information, to provide analysis and to facilitate effective business processes and workflows.

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Supporting Financial Planning and Analysis of Global Centre of Excellence

To support the Budgeting and Forecast of Global Centre of Excellence
To review the BVA of Global Centre of Excellence and to implement corrective actions with Budget Holder in the event of deviation.
To support the Financial Management of Innovation Funds:
- Allocation of funding to the incubators
- Review the spending of the incubators
- Supporting the financial aspects of the incubators.

Planning and Control of staff cost budget and funding for ARO staff

To work with Budget holder and HR to ensure that funding sources for every existing and new staff are confirmed. This include challenging the assumption of cost recovery % and daily rates.
To prepare an overview of the various funding sources of ARO staff.
To conduct monthly BVA review of ARO staff funding, to ensure there is no potential funding gap.
To work closely with ARO Accounting Manager and Financial Analyst (Control and Compliance) to ensure the cost recovery for relevant staff are executed timely.
To prepare a yearly budget and for First and Second Forecast the ARO staff funding Budgeting/forecast.
