School Nurse

POSITION SUMMARY
The ABC International School is looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join its medical/nursing team on the Nha Be Campus.
The successful candidate will be an able, accomplished and experienced nurse. He/She will have
excellent medical knowledge, able to converse with students in English and will be able to work
unsupervised, completing all medical tasks to a high level.
HOURS OF WORK
Monday to Friday
7.50am - 4:20 pm on 5 days per week.
● Morning Sporting ECAs 6.50am - 7.50am
● Afternoon Sporting ECAs & Fixtures after 4.20pm
● Approximately twice each term you may be required to work on a Saturday.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Summary of some of the tasks that the school nurse may be required to do:
- The school nurse is responsible for looking after the health of the students and the staff of the
school.
- Tend to them if they injure themselves or fall ill.
- Administer simple medical treatment
- Refer students and staff to a relevant medical center if required and manage their safe transport
- Report to the SMT, class teacher and parents if any student has been taken ill.
- To record medical incidents on ENGAGE and carry out follow up work as required
- Know about which student has what allergies and should know what to do in case of a reaction.
- Watch students closely for signs of injuries or abuse.
- Keep updates on students suffering from major illnesses and are receiving treatment.
- The school nurses have to make a chain of communication with the management, office, teachers and parents if any child is unwell and requires special attention.
- Create reports on students who regularly fall ill or injure themselves.
- Report safeguarding issues to the Designated Safeguarding Lead
