*Major Functions:
The position is responsible to work with Communications Manager, SA leads, Programme Managers/ Officers, other Comms core and M&E members to develop USAID Biodiversity Conservation project communications & brand plans and proactively ensure all internal checks and admin procedures are followed to implement smoothly. Senior Communications Officer will oversee related comms KPIs and outcomes.
*Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Branding
• Coordinate with Communications Manager of USAID Biodiversity Conservation to develop and execute action plans.
• Review and sign off comms products to ensure compliance with WWF-Viet Nam's branding guidelines.
• Build branding capacity and provide advice to project staff, and partners when needed to ensure brand application and compliance.
Digital Comms
• Develop, manage, and execute digital comms strategies and work plans to promote the work of practices/projects as well as channel promotion; coordinate and produce content on respective platforms among practices/projects and ensure on time and on budget implementation.
• Manage consultants and agencies on delivery of digital comms products according to workplans.
• Provide advice to PCs to disseminate project news on pertinent digital channels.
• Establish and manage project's channels if any, and coordinate and produce content for digital channels, follow up with comments/requests from followers.
• Coordinate with Digital Comms Manager to develop and execute action plan for social media crises.
• Explore new channels and coordinate with Digital Comms Manager to develop new initiatives.
• Coordinate collecting and manage practices/projects assets (photos/footages) for storing and sharing among practices/projects/network/partners and provide advice to use suitable footage upon requests.
• Draft content, supervise the design process and update social post calendar regularly.
Mass media
• Develop and manage media strategies and workplans with feedback of SA leads, PCs and Comms core, coordinate and produce content to promote the work of practices/projects; and prepare media clipping reports.
• Cultivate and maintain media relations with national and international media to increase WWF's exposure and promote the work of practices/projects.
• Nurture investigative media network, and senior reporters who could influence provincial and national level policies.
• Coordinate to organize media trips.
• Contribute to WWF-Viet Nam's database of active journalists and media platforms to diversify audience and outreach to other demographics of Vietnamese, and development of own prioritized lists.
• Explore new high impact TV programs and online columns and engage them with practices/projects.
• Coordinate with Mass Media Manager to build capacity for reporters in conservation works led by WWF-Viet Nam.
• Coordinate and respond to media inquiries.
• Coordinate with Mass Media Manager to develop and execute action plan for mass media crises.
• Contribute to the annual media report, promote initiatives to bolster organization's mass media engagement work.
• Write press releases, gather photos' captions, prepare press kit for press events.
• Update clipping report regularly
Campaign/event
• Manage consultants or agencies on executing campaign/event plans; development and delivery of campaign/event tools, content, and products.
• Report on progress of campaigns and work proactively to overcome obstacles to ensure goals and objectives are met.
Production
• Manage, coordinate, produce and oversee production (design, printing / producing) of comms materials/initiatives (publications, video, visual products, branded gifts etc.) and ensure quality to follow the style and standard of WWF communications products.
• Manage consultants or agencies on development of comms products.
• Provide in-house design, filming, and photography service for key events in case of no budget availability.
• Oversee communications procedures of production with third party-consultants, agencies and /or stakeholders/partners.
• Follow through with finance and procurement for all paperwork process.
Internal Comms
• Produce quarterly newsletter, get alignment and approval, then publish on project website.
• Review and sign off or contribute news of practices/projects to share on Workplace.
• Manage and upload practices/projects' comms assets on Comms Google Drive.
• Contribute practice/projects' imagery to Comms Imagery Hub.
• Update WWF-US on communications materials for mutual usage
Others
• Travel to project sites to align with local partners or execute communications plan.
• Master finance and procurement requirement to fulfill payment for vendors.
• Coordinate with admin to arrange logistics for media events/ internal events.

Required Qualifications
• A university degree in Communications, Film/TV/Video Production, Public/Media Relations, Journalism/Marketing or related field.
• 5+ years of practical experience in communications or public relations or related field.
• Excellent, creative project management skills from concept to delivery.
• Experience in video production and editing and/or graphic design is preferred.
• Experience in event coordination and conducting workshops and seminars.
• A good understanding of current digital communications platforms to promote conservation issues; experience navigating and pushing content out on a variety of social media channels.
• Knowledge and understanding of media relations.
• Basic knowledge of website and content management systems, preferred.
• Familiar with biodiversity conservation issues in Viet Nam and/or globally.
• Experience of working in a multi-cultural environment and/or international organizations is preferred.
Required Skills and Competencies
• Strategic thinking, ability to multitask.
• News writing, editing, press release, social media writing skills.
• Photo/Video production/editing and/or graphic design skills.
• Good planning, organization, time management, facilitation, and coordination skills.
• Networking and interpersonal skills.
• Experience crafting engaging social media posts.
• Good presentation and public speaking skills.
• Fluency in written and spoken Vietnamese and English.

V. Working Relationships:
• Internal: Works closely with COP, DCOP and technical leads to ensure streaming of technical initiatives into communications materials. Close collaboration with the SA4 Demand Reduction lead to support development of consumer research and demand reduction communications approach. Maintains clear and consistent communications with implementing partners communications focal points to ensure cross-institutional coordination and messaging. Works closely with the WWF communications team to ensure cross-project synergies.
• External: Works with consultants, contractors for product development. Works with partners in coordinating events and all communications materials. Also, works closely with USAID Viet Nam communications team.
This job description covers the main tasks and conveys the spirit of the sort of tasks that are anticipated proactively from staff. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary according to organizational needs.
