Senior Construction Manager

Job Summary:
Managing the overall construction of 1 Mandarin Oriental Resort project on 28.5 hectares. The Senior Construction Manager will manage a team consisting of a Construction Manager, PMC, and administrative staff daily to ensure ICKs targets are met in terms of Quality, Safety, Schedule and Cost.
Key Responsibilities:
• Managing the ICK Construction management team
• Managing the main contractors and PMC consultants.
• Interfacing with the design team on critical design issues.
• Guiding the site team in terms of construction techniques, methodology, quality control and site management.
• In combination with the Senior Project Manager implementing ICK's project management system with the contractor, PMC and ICK site team.
• Ensuring strategies for construction and handover are uniform across project areas.
• Ensuring safety, quality and across the projects.
• In combination with the Senior Project Manager and in conjunction with the licensing team, coordinating with local authorities.
• Preventing disputes with neighbors and satisfactorily resolving any disputes which may occur.
• Attending key site meetings.
• Developing the level 3 master schedule in conjunction with the PD, DD, FF&E, Operator, OSE procurement consultants and direct suppliers/contractors.
• Monitoring construction progress and directing the contractor when remedial action is necessary.
• Monitoring the contractor's temporary facilities and temporary works and ensuring they are fit for purpose and in line with the contract.
• Reviewing technical tender submissions.
• Management/monitoring of shop drawing, material approvals, method statements, RFIs responses to ensure responses are timely and do not negatively affect construction progress.
• Ensuring Inspection Test Plans, Requests for Inspection, Method Statements, Shop Drawings, and Material approvals are all strictly adhered to.
• Chairing Weekly Site meetings with contractors.
- Recording impacts of weather, logistics, and reporting on impact on site progress if any.
• Developing Contractor value engineering initiatives with stakeholders.
• Risk management statements and updates.
• Overseeing the Quality management system to ensure strict implementation.
