The Senior Designer - ODM Team Leader is responsible for leading the ODM Design team in developing innovative apparel collections that align with global fashion trends, customer needs, and the company's manufacturing capabilities. This role oversees the end-to-end product design and development process, ensuring high-quality, market-driven products and timely execution while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and international customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop seasonal ODM collections and innovative apparel concepts based on market trends, customer insights, and company capabilities.
- Lead and mentor the ODM design team to deliver high-quality designs and samples on schedule.
- Prepare design presentations, technical sketches, specifications, and tech packs for sample development and production.
- Coordinate with Merchandising, R&D, Sales, Production, and suppliers throughout the product development process
- Monitor sample development to ensure quality, fit, construction, and on-time delivery.
- Research fashion trends, fabrics, trims, colors, and competitor products to identify new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with external designers and suppliers to develop innovative products and design solutions.
- Present ODM collections to customers and recommend suitable materials, constructions, and styling solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement of the ODM design process and contribute to building the company's design capability.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Engineering, Textile & Garment Technology, Industrial Design, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in apparel design, product development, or ODM product creation within garment export companies.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring a design team is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, apparel manufacturing processes, fabrics, trims, washing, and finishing techniques.
- Solid knowledge of product development processes and technical package (Tech Pack) preparation.
- Strong understanding of global fashion trends and commercial product development.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
- Experience with CLO 3D or other 3D garment simulation software is an advantage.
- Strong creativity with excellent commercial awareness and market-oriented thinking.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret fashion trends, customer insights, and competitor products.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Good command of spoken and written English for customer communication, presentations, and technical documentation.
