The Job
We're seeking Senior SRE/Engineer Engineer who have had a proven track record of running critical shared application platforms in a production cloud environment who will take a team-first approach and can act as a multiplier, making other engineers better at their craft.
Your responsibilities:
- Core Infrastructure & Automation
- Define/implement tools and processes to standardize and automate the way project software is developed, built, tested, and deployed (specifically using Helm v2/v3, Terraform, and custom Bash/Python tooling);
- Manage and maintain our custom deployment scripts and HashiCorp Vault integration for secrets management;
- Assist with the design and development of resilient, secure, supportable, and scalable systems on AWS;
- Automate infrastructure deployments and rollbacks for all developed work assuming responsibility for process support;
- CI/CD & Release Management
- Ensure a homogeneous way of implementing continuous integration and/or continuous delivery across projects (GitLab CI);
- Reliability & Support
- Lead investigations into production incidents with assistance from the development team;
- Proactively manage any risks to the production environment;
- Continually improve the supportability of our systems by feeding improvements back into the design and development cycles;
- Troubleshoot and optimize backend applications written in Golang and Java, ensuring high performance and reliability.
Your Skills and Experience
- Core Technical Stack
- Essential: Strong proficiency in Bash scripting (our tooling is heavily script-based) and Linux environments
- Essential: Deep experience with AWS core services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, SQS, SNS, EKS, CloudWatch) and security tools like aws-vault
- Essential: Proven experience with Kubernetes and Helm (managing both v2 and v3 charts)
- Cloud & Infrastructure
- Experience with HashiCorp Vault for secrets management and OIDC authentication
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools: Terraform, Ansible, Packer
- Have an in-depth understanding of microservice architecture, API management, and distributed systems concepts
- Experience with API gateways and technologies (e.g. REST)
- Development & Scripting
- 4+ years' extensive experience of DevOps across all Phases of the software lifecycle
- Experience in building CI/CD pipeline automation (GitLab CI) and Compliance as code
- Essential: Ability to join the Agile team and participate in the full SDLC, including reading, debugging, and maintaining backend code in Golang and Java
- Understanding of Python or Ruby (for tools like eyaml)
- AI Adoption: Proven ability to adopt and integrate AI tools into daily workflows for code generation, debugging, and automation
- Soft Skills & Leadership
- Ability to develop code and work with testers and developers
- Ability to lead and coach on code reviews between Developers and Quality Engineering
- Strong communication, documentation, organization, and time management skills
