About the role:
This position will own all Altra Footwear Product responsibilities as it relates to Development. This includes ensuring state of the art designs are developed on time, achieving target performance at acceptable levels of risk, achieving target product performance verified by testing, and consistently achieving the above across all of the Altra vendor partners.

How You Will Make a Difference
What you will do:
Oversee all technical development and engineering from receipt of design through development process and confirmation sample.
Ensure any design risks leading to potential mass production quality risks are detected and eliminated during the development phases.
Own the Brand Product Development relationship to ensure appropriate connectivity between VFA and Brand Product Development leadership on a continuous basis.
Contribute to the creation of the yearly business strategy and effectively cascade and translate it into actionable work plans for the team of managers and associates in the nominated factory cluster.
Ensure the Brand is achieving target costing margins on a consistent basis through Product Operations team leadership and close alignment with the Brand, Global Product Costing, GMS, and vendor partners.
How you will do it:
Dotted line manage and coach a team of Product Operation Engineers, both in country and in overseas locations.
Proactively provides solutions to any problems and offers alternative options throughout the whole creation and production process.
Manage the strategic relationship with VF FTW factories in the assigned sourcing cluster by focusing on adherence to quality standards, on time performance, automation and manufacturing efficiency while ensuring compliance with VF Responsible Sourcing principles.
Promote internal and external communication within assigned team and cross-functional departments to execute the buys in mass production, leading the resolution of problems during WIP process to achieve on-time delivery performance.
Careful monitoring through frequent team alignments to make sure all product integrity is secure prior to mass production and that costing margins are clearly known to all and achieved prior to Buy Readiness.
What success looks like:
Product creation processes and technology are employed that support development, commercialization and production timelines, achieving product margin targets, and without compromising quality.
Close connectivity exists between VFA Product Operations and Brand Product Development teams leading to complete design, development, and commercialization alignment between both sides.
Regular and accurate tracking reports are provided by the team to all divisions. Early warnings of potential issues and delays are consistently raised up and quality issues which can be identified in Development phases are not translated into mass production.
High level involvement exists in the creation and/or evolution of existing and/or new processes and strategic projects executing it with the assigned team and factory VF Product Operations staff.
