RMIT International University Vietnam is the Asian hub of RMIT University. Degrees are awarded by RMIT University in Australia, allowing Vietnamese students to receive an overseas education without having to leave home. The role
This role will act as a trusted advisor to the Executive Director, Operations and is responsible for providing high level support, advice and delivery of programs across all operational aspects of the portfolio to deliver on the strategic and business goals of the department. The incumbent will lead and manage the Portfolio's administrative activities relating to operational, and some financial (in conjunction with the Finance Business Partners), human resource/staffing and workforce planning (in conjunction with the HR Business Partners), planning, performance, monitoring and reporting; and support the establishment of key projects and initiatives in ITS and Property. The position will also lead cultural and work practice changes required to support the portfolio's strategic directions.
The incumbent will also work with the other members of the Leadership team and ensure they are comprehensive, appropriate and responsive.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide strategic advice, high level leadership and direct support to the EDOPs in relation to the portfolio's operational planning, performance, monitoring and performance to support focus across the highest-level priorities.
- Support the establishment and development of key projects and initiatives including the establishment of control groups, working parties and ensure governance, reporting and monitoring of each key project and initiatives.
- Provide high level strategic advice to both the Operational Leadership team and wider Leadership teams for decision-making on activities such as: planning, workload allocation, and business development opportunities/activities.
- Lead the delivery of high-quality services, administrative functions and interfaces ensuring flexible and timely responses to operational needs within the Portfolio's and University, and the development of productive, collaborative working environments which are reflective of the University's values and strategic objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction to other team members in the Office of Executive Director Operations, to ensure that the team is supported.
- As a member of the Operations Leadership teamwork with Business Partners and stakeholders across the Portfolio's and university to ensure a holistic approach to the delivery of student-centred and client focussed administrative services.
- Manage key Portfolio projects relating to strategic priorities and initiatives.
- Lead the Portfolio's compliance with legislation and University regulations and policy, and University-wide procedures, processes and governance, and participate in University policy review and development.
- Prepare reports on Portfolio-related matters and represent the Portfolio on committees and working parties as required.
- Lead / provide advice on projects focusing on continuous improvement working with a variety of stakeholders within operations and across the University

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- A relevant degree qualification in related field.
- Significant leadership skills including the capacity to initiate lead and manage in a challenging and dynamic environment and to provide strategic advice and support.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in the management and delivery of services within a complex organization, preferably in the tertiary education sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in the areas of change management and project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in the development, interpretation and implementation of policy and procedure.
- Proven budget, financial management, performance reporting, planning and business development skills.
- Demonstrated high level problem solving and analytical ability to identify improvement opportunities.
- High level interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead, direct and influence others, including a proven capacity to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external groups.
- Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team to achieve identified goals.
- Demonstrate high level computer skills to support accountabilities of the position.
Benefits include but not limited to:
- Competitive remuneration package in USD (for expatriate candidates) or VND (for Vietnamese candidates) plus performance bonus depending on proven track record in meeting all the key selection criteria.
- Relocation allowance package up to USD $6,000 with support to relocate overseas candidate (and family) from home location to Vietnam for expatriates applying outside Vietnam.

Further information
The role located is Ho Chi Minh city or Hanoi, Vietnam, is open for both local and expatriate candidates.
If you are an expatriate candidate, you will require a work permit to work in Vietnam. To qualify for a work permit you will need (at minimum) a degree in a relevant field to the position and must be able to provide official written confirmation (statement of service) of at least 3 years' senior management related experience.
English Proficiency
English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (General) with a score of at least 7.0 with no band less than 6.5 or 170 in Lingua Skills.
