Sil Manufacturing Engineer

General Description/Purpose:
The Manufacturing Engineer will provide a high level of service to ensure employee, customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Manufacturing Engineer does this by assisting in the design and development of processes to manufacture furniture. The Manufacturing Engineer also ensures production procedures efficiently utilize materials and personnel and tests finished product for quality purposes and recommends changes to product specifications as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Work with the engineering team at Stickley headquarters to create manufacturing routings/Process steps for the plant in Vietnam.
2. Responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods including supporting the implementation of changes as directed.
3. Actively participate in LEAN / continuous improvement projects; partner with Production teams to improve process flow and elimination of waste
4. Estimates production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
5. Ensure cost effective manufacturing through early development of all essential figures and of fixtures, processes, tooling, etc.
6. Utilizes blueprints and technical/engineered drawings.
7. Stays up to date with a variety of manufacturing processes and materials.
8. Works independently and displays a professional attitude and represent the company with integrity and professionalism.
