Role summary
We are looking for a Software Team Manager to lead, coach, and grow a cross-functional software engineering team delivering automation and production software solutions. This role combines people leadership, delivery ownership, technical judgment, and stakeholder management across global teams.

Project / Team context
- Lead a software team supporting automation products and production software used in the residential construction ecosystem.
- Partner with Product Management, Architecture, QA, DevOps, Customer Support, and global engineering stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
- Drive engineering excellence across Agile delivery, quality ownership, secure coding, maintainability, operational readiness, and continuous improvement
What you will do
- People leadership: Lead, coach, and develop software engineers and QA members through regular 1:1s, performance feedback, career development, and capability planning.
- Delivery management: Own team execution plans, sprint commitments, dependencies, risks, and delivery predictability while maintaining sustainable team performance.
- Technical leadership: Guide technical discussions, architecture alignment, design reviews, code quality practices, and engineering standards without becoming a delivery bottleneck.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Work with global Product, Architecture, Operations, QA, and customer-facing teams to clarify priorities, communicate status, and resolve cross-team issues.
- Quality and operational excellence: Promote strong practices in testing, CI/CD, observability, secure development, documentation, incident learning, and production readiness.
- Process improvement: Continuously improve Agile ceremonies, planning discipline, estimation, engineering metrics, risk management, and team operating model.
- Talent contribution: Support hiring, onboarding, knowledge sharing, succession planning, and team engagement activities for MiTek Vietnam software teams.
Your Skills and Experience
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a team lead, engineering manager, software manager, or equivalent leadership role.
- Ability to connect multiple data sources and systems
- Understanding of Digital Thread concepts
- Knowledge of simulation, automated testing, software engineering, machine telemetry, and data pipelines
- Ability to drive customer-facing data solutions and cross-functional collaboration
- Solid understanding of modern software engineering practices, SDLC, Agile/Scrum or Kanban, software quality, release management, and production support.
- Good English communication skills; B2 CEFR or equivalent is preferred for daily collaboration with international teams.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to balance technical quality, delivery outcomes, customer value, and team sustainability.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience leading cross-functional teams that include developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and/or DevOps engineers.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, cloud delivery, software security practices, and engineering metrics.
- Familiarity with automation, digital manufacturing, CAD/BIM, production systems, industrial applications, or construction technology domains.
- Experience managing distributed teams and collaborating with stakeholders in Australia, New Zealand, North America, Europe, or other global regions.
- Demonstrated ability to improve engineering processes, reduce delivery risk, mentor future leaders, and scale team capability.
