Software Engineering

"iSciLab" stands for Intelligence Science Laboratory, which grew out of the Mathematical Technology Laboratory (MTL) of Seoul National University. We specialize in the Mathematics, Science, and Technology of human intelligence and related fields. We do research in Artificial Intelligence (Deep Learning and Machine Learning), Finance, and Optimization. Within those areas, we develop proprietary patented technologies that are to be commercialized through strategic partnerships. We also conduct, with our partners, joint research and developmental works.

We're looking for engineers who will bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, big data, AI and any new technologies that may arise in our relevant fields. You will work with upper management to define software requirements.

Must have:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience in using versions control: SVN, Git.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to speak and write English proficiently.

Back-end:

• More than 3 years of relevant work experience in software development.
• Knowledge of selected programming languages, including but not limited to: Java, NodeJS, Python.
• Good understanding of relational databases (e.g. MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB).
• Good understanding of Spring framework.

Front-end:

• More than 1 years experience with web application development using React JS.
• Good understanding of JavaScript, Typescript, JSX, Redux.
• Experience in working with remote data via RESTful API and JSON.
• Good knowledge of UX/UI best practices.

Nice to have:

• In-depth knowledge of OOP (Object Oriented Programming).
• Experience in Microservices architecture.
• Interest and ability to learn other coding languages as needed.
• Experience in both back-end and front-end is a plus.
