Sr/Lead Backend NodeJS

We are seeking motivated Backend Engineers, NodeJS (Senior and Lead) who are passionate, results-focused to take accountability for the design and delivery of Microservices that will be used by banking applications. You will be part of our delivery team and will be responsible for providing technical leadership throughout all phases of the software delivery life cycle as we initiate a transformation of NAB technology.

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Collaborate with other NAB's technology leaders towards improving and fulfilling the NAB technical direction;
2. Evangelize and promote JavaScript - NodeJS best practices;
3. Be passionate about JavaScript - NodeJS, stay relevant and understand how to implement advancement for existing or new systems;
4. Design, develop, review, implement, and manage application code and services for the production and pre-release environments in NodeJS;
5. Design, develop, review, implement, and manage continuous integration, build management and deployment scripts, systems, and any code as required;
6. Participate in Agile software development, prototyping, and code review with international development teams to build scalable microservices-based products;
7. Understand the requirements of the customer or business and utilize this knowledge to develop applications that are consistent with this;
8. Work with delivery teams to achieve success through development using CI/CD and DevOps practices, processes and tooling;
9. Provide robust coding practices and solid unit and component test coverage, and code debugging.

Must have:

1. Senior (>4 years), Lead (>6 years) experience working in Software Development:
   - Solid experience in JavaScript ES6 (import/ export of Modules, promise, async wait, callbacks) and TypeScript working with NodeJS, and nice to have ReactJS experience
   - Solid experience in using Jest [protected info] unit testing or similar frameworks
   - Experience working on microservices-based projects
2. Solid experience in designing & developing RESTful APIs and microservices-based systems;
3. Solid DevOps and Continuous Delivery skillset: Experience in using Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and tools.
4. Solid experience in Agile development environments;
5. Well-versed in writing structured, well-documented, maintainable, and clean code;
6. Excellent in problem-solving and analytical skills;
7. Strong understanding of standard Software Engineering processes, Testing, and Agile methodology;
8. Strong English communication skills (both verbal & written), especially in the global software development environment;
9. Experience in leading and coaching at least one software engineering team on various projects (Lead level).

Nice to have:

1. Experience in AWS and Containers (ECS, Kubernetes, Docker);
2. Experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry;
3. Experience in scripting (Bash, Python, Groovy, PowerShell, AWS CLI);
4. Wide-ranging knowledge of various technologies (programming languages, frameworks, software architectures,..);
5. Experience with developing microservices Java and SpringBoot;
6. Experience in Front-End frameworks, specifically [protected info];
7. Any additional certification or training in IT, Business, Computer Science, or related area.
