Supplier Quality Engineer

About the Role
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SSQE) is responsible for ensuring that suppliers consistently deliver quality parts, materials, and services in compliance with Medtronic requirements. This role partners closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams to prevent defects, resolve quality issues, and support continuous improvement throughout the product lifecycle, including New Product Development (NPD).
Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
• Ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services in accordance with company, regulatory, and customer requirements.
• Qualify and evaluate suppliers against company standards and support Certified Supplier Programs to ensure quality and cost effectiveness.
• Monitor supplier parts and materials from sourcing through the manufacturing lifecycle; communicate and resolve supplier-related quality issues in a timely manner.
• Develop, prioritize, and execute supplier audit plans to ensure ongoing compliance with GMP and applicable quality standards.
• Assess supplier quality systems, processes, and performance; provide clear feedback and drive corrective and preventive actions.
• Participate in and support the Material Review Board (MRB) process, including evaluation and disposition of nonconforming materials, coordination of cross-functional MRB activities, and ensuring timely containment, root cause analysis, and corrective actions with suppliers.
• Define and implement:
- Product acceptance and sampling strategies
- Approved Supplier List (ASL) coordination
- Supplier Owned Quality deployment
- Control Plans for new products
• Define Receiving Inspection requirements as needed and support validation of internal Medtronic test methods.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supplier quality, performance, and reliability.
