Supply Chain Assistant

The Responsibilities:
- To facilitate fast, accurate and on time ordering, shipping, and delivery of distributor orders.
- Prompt follow up of any production changes and ensuring these are accurately reflected in our ERP system and on documentation
- Monitoring factory delays/improvements and making sure the factories send revised documentation
- Checking packing lists for accuracy of information
- Checking factory invoices to ensure correct pricing has been used. Recording these for our accounts payable team to process
- Providing support and absence cover for colleagues where necessary
- Ensuring you communicate day to day impact issues accurately and in a timely manner to the Supply Chain Manager, Markets and Asia Operations, maintaining maximum visibility and transparency
- Ensuring all parties are conforming to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and highlighting areas for improvement as they arise
- Maintenance of all sales orders and purchase orders
- Working closely with factories and our Asia Operations team to ensure monthly and quarterly shipping and invoicing targets are met
- Assisting with the samples process
- Helping to implement or improve new methodologies and initiatives as required, using trials as appropriate
- Following delivery of orders: managing packaging, order and quality feedback and processing claims using SOPs
The Person:
- Experience working on modern ERP systems i.e. MS Navision, SAP, JDE, etc.
- A good understanding of general merchandise ordering processes and factory operations
- A basic understanding of warehouse receiving operations and processes
- A sound knowledge of freight / logistics movements, incoterms and terms of purchase
- A basic understanding of transit modularity particularly loose boxed and palletized freight
- A working knowledge of factory documentation
- A basic knowledge of customs clearance processes
- Excellent skills on Microsoft programs, particularly Excel
- Strong numerical, analytical, and interpretive skills
- A proactive and "can do" attitude
- A willingness to push yourself beyond your comfort zone and develop your working knowledge in new areas
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to initiate and build good working relationships with other team members, distributors/customers, and customers
- Strong assertiveness and influencing skills amongst your own operational colleagues
