Sustainability Manager

Location: Vietnam
Functional Reports to:Sustainability & CSR Head (located Netherlands)
Administrative Reports to: General Manager (located in Ho Chi Minh City)
The role is responsible for providing leadership to the REGENERATE project, certification (4C/UTZ/RFA) programs, and developing new sustainable projects & initiatives in Vietnam.
The REGENERATE project is a joint initiative of Sucden Coffee and partners within the SD Asia Landscape Program and SourceUp of IDH, aiming to increase the resilience of landscapes and coffee livelihoods, as well as to collaborate on long-term sourcing from the targeted coffee regions.
Responsibilities:
REGENERATE project
• Overall supervision of project implementation and ensuring progress toward goals and targets
• Supervise local staff and oversee the day-to-day activities of the team, procurement, project monitoring and evaluation, financial management, progress, and financial reporting
• Arrange for regular reports and consultations with the Sustainability Head
• Maintain close contact with local project partners ensuring adequate communication
• Represent the project locally and undertake external communication with relevant local stakeholders
• Ensure sufficient technical backstopping for the project activities
• Ensuring quality controls are applied to all technical work programs to ensure 'excellence" at all levels of management and implementation
• Prepare annual reports, work plans, and budgets and present them to the Sustainability Head
• Pro-activity in solving challenges on the ground, suggesting improvements
• Participate in regional meetings and workshops as required
4C/ RFA programs
• Identify and select suitable collectors and coffee areas to implement sustainable programs.
• Building internal management system at farmer levels. Organizing farmer groups and selecting farmer group leaders.
• Analysis of training needs and providing GAP training sessions for farmers.
• Implement internal and external audits per the certification program's requirements.
• Implement improvement plans and annual reporting to certification organizations.
• Regularly update and effectively apply new standards of 4C, UTZ, and RFA.
• Manage internal documents of sustainable programs.
