Role Overview
We are looking for a Tech Lead who combines product judgment, hands-on engineering, and commercial sense to build technology that improves the efficiency, scalability, and profitability of AIRR Labs' e-commerce operations.
This role owns the design, delivery, and adoption of internal products, automation platforms, and Agentic AI solutions that solve real operational problems. You will work with Product, Operations, Commercial, and Data teams to turn business needs into practical systems, and you will be expected to bring industry-proven approaches-drawn from scalable e-commerce, marketplace, and agent platforms-rather than reinventing patterns that already work elsewhere.
The right candidate knows how to choose the right solution for the scenario: when a simple workflow automation is enough, when a multi-agent system is justified, when to buy or integrate versus build, and how to balance delivery speed, reliability, operating cost, and long-term maintainability. You will also coach engineers, so they understand the business context behind what they build and take ownership of quality and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Product, Operations, and Commercial teams to identify bottlenecks and turn them into clear technical approaches, delivery plans, and success measures.
- Lead design, build, integration, and rollout of internal products. Stay hands-on in design, coding, prototyping, review, and production support.
- Apply proven patterns for scalable, maintainable systems: reliable integrations, clear boundaries, observability, and controlled rollout.
- Select and implement the right automation or Agentic AI approach for the workflow-rules where they suffice, tool-using agents for multi-step work, orchestration only when justified-with evaluation, approval points, monitoring, and cost controls.
- Build marketplace and internal integrations that support listings, inventory, orders, fulfillment, returns, and reconciliation, and that operations teams will actually use.
- Coach engineers on business context, design quality, and ownership. Set practical standards for testing, security, and support.
- Prioritize by expected value and run cost. Track adoption, productivity, and realized savings after launch, and keep infrastructure and AI costs in check.
Your Skills and Experience
Requirements
- Proven engineering experience with hands-on technical leadership and coaching.
- Track record of shipping and maintaining systems used in live operations.
- Ability to turn e-commerce or operations workflows into reliable solutions and explain trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Practical experience with e-commerce or marketplace operations, ideally TikTok Shop or similar, including integrations.
- Experience shipping Agentic AI or advanced automation: tool use, API integration, multi-step execution, evaluation, and production controls.
- Strong backend, data, integration, and cloud skills, with judgment on scalability, reliability, and cost.
- Evidence of choosing among build, buy, integrate, and automate based on scenario and total cost.
- Examples of work that reduced manual effort, errors, or operating cost.
- Clear English for regional collaboration.
Preferred
- Experience in an e-commerce enabler, marketplace, multi-market operator, or B2B SaaS.
- Integrations with OMS, WMS, ERP, or similar systems.
- Work with retrieval-augmented generation, agent evaluation, and AI observability.
- Experience driving adoption and continuous improvement with business users.
