Urgent - [Garment] Development Engineer (Socks)

Job Function/Purpose
• Socks Development Engineer position advises the Product Development team in his/her areas of expertise to support the creation of technical specs including bill of raw material and work with vendors Plant.
List Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities
1. New Product Development (Seasonal).
• Closely with AU (Design & R&D) , Vendor & ROH Sourcing Team.
• Tracking the development process to ensure timely completion with the calendar, including all round of sample, until getting approved.
• Compare between reference sample in-hand and develop product from vendor to ensure product quality match with spec packs.
• Check the measurement including appearance to ensure the develop product follow the measurement chart and send the report to brand team.
• Provide advice on construction details to achieve the desired aesthetic and technical performance outcome for sample development as well as to support manufacturing.
• Analyst material using of each product to confirm with vendor by following the spec pack.
• Provide expert advice on Raw material usage & socks Runtime.
• Manages the process of developing a product in order to meet the brand team expectations effectively.
2. Data Management
• Work on PLM to download specs or upload specs.
• Work closely with Key Sourced vendors if any issue related to product quality.
3. Principal Accountability. (Resourcing).
• Propose the alternative ideas to reduce the Product cost & quality.
• Understanding development process and business strategy, able to give briefing RM details to supplier/vendor
• Successfully maintain product quality and consistency during transition to new supplier/vendor.
4. Decisions Expected
• Able to check the samples submission and communicate back to sender if submission is not meet our request.
5. Recommendations Expected
• Need to think ahead and proactively problem solve and provide technical solutions and suggestions to problems.
• All Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental & Quality Management System accountabilities and responsibilities relevant to the position.
• Other tasks follow superior requirements.
6. Challenges & Constraints
• Work under pressure - Tight timelines, working with new technology and unplanned/unexpected problems during development. Provide problem solution plan.
• Continually learn and improve about textile knowledge.
