Key purpose of the Role:

To lead the in-house design review and quantity surveying work of the Company's industrial development projects across Vietnam, mainly ready-built and built-to-suit warehouses, under the design and tendering stages
To support the technical due diligence of the Company's warehouse pipeline projects
To support the construction permitting and construction management of the projects under the construction stage

Role Scope

Define the scope of works, budgets and timelines for all services related to the design & construction of the Company's development projects
Specify high level design guidelines based on feasibility study and local codes and regulations, and provide value engineering input into the concept & preliminary design stages to ensure cost efficient design principles
Review all the design work prepared by external consultants to ensure good functionality and compliance with local codes and regulations
Assist in the RFP process, including vendor selection and appointment; monitor the ongoing performance of the vendors
Oversee the preparation of the construction tendering documents and the tendering process, ensuring a transparent and fair process and the selection of the fittest
Review construction methodology, cost budget and schedule
Give in-house support the design approval and construction permitting process
Keep orderly record of all the project files, and provide regular project management updates & reporting
Identify potential design and construction management risk, notify the operation and investment teams in team, and drive risk mitigation solutions in time
Help coordinate technical due diligence of the Company's pipeline projects, review the deliverables of the external consultants and comment on key risks and issues
The role would require travel to conduct site inspection and meeting with vendors

Key capabilities / Competencies

Strong fluency in English is a MUST; overseas working experience in English-speaking environment and fluent Vietnamese a strong plus
Experienced in independently carrying out design review, tendering process coordination, construction budgeting and vendor management of warehouse / industrial development projects
Prior work experience in similar functions with leading construction consultancy firms or industrial developers a must
Good local design & construction regulation know-how in terms of warehouse / industrial developments
Proficiency with professional software, e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, Primavera
Good computer literacy, e.g., MS Office series
Ideal candidates shall come from leading industrial developers or international engineering consultancy firms in Vietnam and have been working on similar functions as described in the above role scope; 8-10 years of relevant working experience is preferred

Expected educational & professional qualifications

Bachelor degree with a reputable university in relevant disciplines (e.g. Civil Engineering / Architecture)
Chartered or qualified professional in the fields of architecture, building or engineering
