WVV has a total income of around US$ 17,300,000 (FY20) with funding from 12 support countries in Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia. WVV employs about 400 staff, of which 99% are Vietnamese nationals.
Currently, World Vision Vietnam is implementing 37 Area Programmes (APs) which operate in 5 zones: North 1: Hoa Binh
Dien Bien, North 2: Yen Bai - Tuyen Quang, North 3: Thanh Hoa
Hung Yen
Hai Phong, Central: Quang Tri
Quang Nam - Danang) and South (Quang Ngai
Binh Thuan - DakNong
Ho Chi Minh).
WVV's APs work with government partners and communities on a daily basis. Beside the APs, WVV is also implementing different Special and Grant Projects to meet the specific needs of vulnerable children in both AP and non-AP areas.
The Human Trafficking Prevention for Women and Girls in Dien Bien Province (HTPWG) Project is funded by Japanese Ministry of Foreigner Affair (MOFA) through WV Japan. The HTPWG project's overall objective is to increase the Dien Bien Ethnic minorities' resilience to increase income through livestock raising. The project area covers Tuan Giao and Muong Cha Districts, Dien Bien Province.
The Project Assistants will base in Muong Cha Area Programme of World Vision Vietnam, to support and report to the Project Manager in delivering management and technical and creative inputs to the day to day implementation and monitoring of the administrative and operational activities of the livestock raising funding activities, HTPWG project.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To assist the Project Manager under closely consultation with Project Officer and Project Coordinator in planning, developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating project activities to achieve stipulated objectives, and to transfer the ownership of the project's development to the community when the project ends.
ROLE DIMENSION/DESCRIPTION:
Designing and Planning:
The real needs of the community in term of Livelihoods especially the needs of disadvantaged women and children, are identified in the annual POA development
Project Activities Implementation, Monitoring and Reporting:
Implement project activities following the WVV's and donors' project management policies, standards and guidelines;
Providing livestock with considering the needs of women and household with PC and PO.
Monitoring the situation of raising livestock in each household with PO
Support women in raising livestock. Report to PO/PC if there are problems.
Assist in conducting follow-up training on livestock raising
Record and reporting the detail progress of the project.
Collecting information for reporting to donors.
Working with various stakeholders (women in project site, local government, WVV staffs, livestock sellers, etc.)
Facilitate project's trainings, communication, sensitization activities to partners and communities and follow up the training impact;
Be responsible for ensuring beneficiary accountability, gender equality and women rights;
Undertake any project related responsibilities requested by the Project Manager.
Relationship and Collaboration:
Effective partnership with relevant agencies (sectoral district officers, commune officials, members of VDBs, DPMB/CPMB, volunteers) is built and nurtured.
Good collaboration with other AP staffs to ensure good integration of the HTPWG project and other AP activities are demonstrated;
Good cooperation with relevant technical programme officers/managers is maintained to ensure the sufficient technical inputs for project implementation.
Survey, Research and Documentation:
Contribution is made to project survey/study and evaluation and its corresponding reports including presentation of survey results to government counterparts and the community to track on the project progress;
Effective assistance is provided in developing research, designing data collection tools, implementing research in the field, analyzing data, and presenting findings to relevant audiences to ensure that the project has correct inputs for intervention strategy designing and to contribute to the audience's experience/ knowledge on the issues found and rose up by research work of the project;
Conduct field studies/researches to get lessons learnt on the project with the support from Project Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Education
University/college degree, preferably in social science, environment, related field and/or management.
Knowledge & Skills
Conceptual understanding of and commitment to development work, especially Christian, child-focused, community-based development concepts, approaches and processes;
Knowledgeable about livestock
Able to speak the language of the minority group in Muong Cha or Tuan Giao
Community mobilisation skills, including networking/coordination among different local partners;
Demonstrated training and group facilitation skills;
Good time management and organizational skills;
Good interpersonal and communications skills;
Fair English, especially report writing and reading skills;
Good computer knowledge and skills (Microsoft Words, Excel, PowerPoint), internet and email.
Experience
1-2 years of relevant work experience in development, livelihood project/program
Experience in INGO-funded project planning, managing and implementation.
