An Account Manager in the office furniture industry is responsible for managing client relationships from the initial project brief through to final delivery and installation. They act as the primary liaison between corporate clients and the company's internal design, logistics, and installation teams
Core Responsibilities
• Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain long-term partnerships with key decision-makers, architects, interior
designers, and contractors.
• Project Oversight: Manage the full lifecycle of furniture projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet client specifications.
• Consultative Selling: Conduct in-depth needs assessments and provide expert guidance on ergonomic design, furniture layout, and cost-efficient solutions.
• Sales Strategy: Meet or exceed sales targets by identifying new business opportunities and upselling additional products or services to existing accounts.
• Proposal Development: Prepare accurate quotes, product samples, and detailed presentations for RFP (Request for Proposal) responses.
• Post-Installation Support: Provide ongoing support, including warranty management and research updates to ensure long-term client retention
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Industry Expertise: Strong knowledge of commercial office furniture, workstations, seating, and ergonomic solutions is highly preferred.
• Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication for delivering virtual and in-person presentations.
• Negotiation: Advanced skills in contract negotiation and margin management.
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze market trends, competitor offerings, and client data to adapt sales strategies.
• Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with space planning software (CET) is often required for coordination with internal designers.
• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Interior Design, or a related field is typically expected.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects on tight deadlines.
