Advance Manufacturing Engineer (AME)

This person is based at our Vietnam factory and leads projects that drive innovation and increased automation on new and existing equipment. The AME is responsible for researching and implementing the use of advanced technology in manufacturing operations. The AME is also Leads the development and/or improvement of manufacturing processes. Specifies quote, purchase and runoff capital equipment, tooling, and systems required for automated manufacturing.
Essential functions and key responsibilities are:
● Responsible for process transfer, equipment planning, selection, configuration, installation, start up and volume ramp up for relevant process.
● After the equipment start and ramp-up, daily sustaining activities and process engineering tasks including performance tracking, equipment matching and continuous improvement.
● Establishing the process engineering related business processes and standard operating procedures (SOP) necessary to run the tools in production, as well as their documentation.
● Designs, builds, and qualifies automated assembly equipment, new process technology integration.
● Evaluates and estimates production time, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decisions.
● Influences and impacts part design related to Design for Assembly, error proofing, fixture design, torque strategy development and incorporating quality improvement measures.
● Manages Manufacturing Engineering projects to scope, on time and within budget requirements.
● Creates and revise equipment, tooling, and gage drawings.
● Assists with instruction and training of employees to achieve company goals.
● Provides guidance for production operators, technicians, and interns.
● Observe safety and housekeeping at workstation.
● Perform other tasks as assigned.
