1. Product Development & Technical Execution
- Lead and execute assigned product development projects from concept, formulation, laboratory evaluation, stability testing, pilot production, scale-up, validation, and commercialisation.
- Conduct formulation development and laboratory experimentation involving raw materials, emulsification systems, processing techniques, and packaging compatibility using both conventional and innovative approaches.
- Collaborate with Sales and
Business Development teams to update the product specification based on change requests and customer requirements and to develop innovative product concepts based on market research, consumer needs, customer requirements and industry trends
- Recommend new products and improvements to existing formulations based on technical evaluation, market trends and manufacturing feasibility.
2. Product & Process Validation
- Develop validation plans for new products, formulation changes, raw material changes, packaging changes, manufacturing process improvements and equipment modifications, in consultation with the Validation Engineer.
- Ensure product performance, quality, safety and regulatory requirements are verified during validation.
3. Starting Material Evaluation
- Evaluate and qualify new and existing raw materials, packaging materials, and suppliers for suitability in product development and manufacturing.
- Work closely with Planning /
Purchasing and suppliers to identify alternative materials and resolve technical issues relating to raw materials.
4. Laboratory Operations & Project Management
- Supervise the daily operations of the R&D laboratory to ensure efficient execution of development projects.
- Monitor project status and provide regular progress updates to the Senior Manager, R&D / PRRC.
5. Scale-up & Manufacturing Support
- Lead pilot production and manufacturing scale-up activities for assigned projects.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering and Quality Assurance to ensure smooth technology transfer into manufacturing.
6. Regulatory & Quality Support
- Support the Senior Manager, R&D / PRRC in ensuring that products and raw materials comply with applicable quality standards and regulatory requirements across relevant markets, including HSA, US FDA, EU MDR and Vietnam's product compliance framework (e.g. TCCS and CR Mark), where applicable.
- Work closely with Marketing, Sales, QA and Regulatory personnel to resolve technical issues relating to packaging artwork.

9. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Regulatory Affairs, or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum 5-7 years' relevant R&D experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience leading product development projects from concept through commercialisation.
- Strong experience in formulation development, laboratory testing, product validation, manufacturing scale-up, and technical problem-solving.
- Working knowledge of applicable local and international regulatory requirements, including product registration, labelling, technical documentation, and regulatory compliance. Experience with medical device, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, or chemical regulations is an advantage.
- Good understanding of GMP, ISO quality management systems, risk management principles, and design/development control requirements.
- Strong project management, leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in Vietnamese with good written and spoken English.
- Knowledge of Halal (HAS 23000) and FSC chain-of-custody requirements is an advantage.
