OnPoint is expanding its brand acquisition capability to bring high-potential Chinese brands into Vietnam and Thailand (with broader SEA markets to follow). The
Business Development Manager will lead this effort - identifying, approaching, and onboarding Chinese brands looking to enter SEA marketplaces, and serving as the primary commercial bridge between brand principals in China and OnPoint's local operations.
This is a hunter role for someone who understands how Chinese brands think, how they evaluate overseas market entry, and how to build trust with brand-side decision makers quickly.
Responsibilities
• Identify and prospect Chinese brands with intent or readiness to enter Vietnam and Thailand markets, with focus in Beauty and Electronics/Electrical Appliances
• Lead end-to-end BD pipeline: outreach, pitch, commercial negotiation, and onboarding
• Build and maintain relationships with brand principals, trade teams, and China-side stakeholders
• Develop market entry proposals including platform strategy, pricing, and go-to-market approach tailored to SEA e-commerce
• Collaborate with OnPoint's Commercial, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure smooth brand launch and ramp-up
• Track pipeline performance, brand acquisition targets, and portfolio revenue contribution
Represent OnPoint at trade events and brand roadshows in China and Vietnam as required
• Chinese or Vietnamese national with strong professional networks in China's Beauty and/or Consumer Electronics/ Appliances industry
• 5-8 years of experience in business development, brand management, or trade/export sales - preferably on the brand side or with an e-commerce enabler
• Deep understanding of Chinese brand export motivations, decision-making structures, and overseas market entry expectations
• Experience working with or selling into SEA markets is an advantage but not required
• Fluent in Mandarin; professional working proficiency in English (Vietnamese is a plus)
• Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and comfortable building from scratch - this role has no established playbook yet
• Willing to be based in Vietnam for the first 6 months, with flexibility on location thereafter
