The Job
About the role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated BI Engineer to join our team. You will play a vital role in fostering a data-driven culture within our organization and empowering other teams to leverage data for decision-making. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust data assets, implementing analytical solutions, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive data initiatives.
You will:
- Collaborate with teams across the company to scope analytical requirements and priorities & translate them into scalable and actionable BI solutions.
- Design and build interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations to present data-driven insights.
- Develop models or tools to analyze complex datasets and extract insights and recommendations to support different business units.
- Continuously improve data quality and time to insights through data pipelines development, maintenance and optimization.
- Be a steward of good data practices - robust documentation, versioning, playbooking, processes, and knowledge sharing.
- Champion initiatives to improve data-driven decision making culture in the organization.

Your Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative subject, e.g. computer science, physics, mathematics, economics, engineering or demonstrable relevant practical experience in a BI Engineer or similar role.
- Minimum 2+ years experience in the similar roles
- Ability to write clean, structured, and high-performance SQL and Python code.
- Experience with building and maintaining data visualization assets (eg Tableau, Data Studio, PowerBI).
- Experience in using GIT.
- Experience with big data, Data Warehouse technologies such as Airflow, dbt, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- The ability to understand, write, and manage simple Airflow DAGs is highly desirable.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical data solutions.
- Able to work and deliver with minimal supervision.
- Excellent time management skills.
