Cost and Tax Accountant (Vietnam)

* Key Objective of Role
The Cost and Tax Accountant is a member of the accounting team, directly reporting to the Vietnam FM. This role ensures the company's financial operations are efficient, accurate, and compliant with all financial regulations. The Cost Accountant plays a crucial role in budgeting, cost control, and financial planning to support the company's profitability and financial health.
* Key Responsibilities
A - Inventory:
• Manage the end-to-end accounting processes, including reconciling all inventory transactions both physically and within the SAP system, performing inventory analysis, and maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers.
• Supervise and manage periodic stock-takes, identifying the root cause of variances and making appropriate adjustments if needed.
• Propose appropriate inventory processes according to company policies, ISO, and GAAP requirements.
B - Costing:
• Determine and collect costs according to transactions of the Supply Chain, from purchase to production and sales information.
• Track and control actual monthly costs against standards, providing analysis on any significant variances.
• Suggest appropriate standard costs for manufacturing on a 6-month cycle and manage costing logic in the SAP system, from manufacturing to delivery activities.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and statements for management review.
• Identify cost-effective or ineffective areas and suggest improvements.
• Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Provide recommendations to management on cost-saving initiatives.
C - Projects:
• Follow up and frequently update the progress of each project.
• Compare actual costs with the budget and record them in the SAP system according to GAAP.
• Conduct project margin analysis upon project completion.
D - Financial Reporting:
• Prepare cost-related financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
E - Tax:
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
• Control tax compliance.
• Declare and control periodic tax declarations (CIT, VAT, FCT).
F - Others:
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing; budget and forecast related activities.
• Monitor budget vs. actual performance and provide explanations for variances.
• Work with auditors to finalize and issue audited financial statements.
• Monitor and execute loan payments (TF).
• Provide support as assigned.
