Role Description The Data Scientist at FPT University will work full time on-site in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This role involves collecting, cleaning, and analyzing complex datasets to support academic research, institutional decision-making, and innovation projects.
The Data
Scientist will build predictive models, perform statistical and machine learning analyses, and create dashboards and visual reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Daily tasks include collaborating with faculty and research teams, identifying data-driven opportunities, validating hypotheses, and documenting methodologies and results. The role also requires staying current with data science best practices and contributing to the development of data-related curricula and student projects when needed.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Data Science and Data Analytics to design models, extract insights, and support evidence-based decisions.
Candidates should possess solid knowledge of Statistics and Data Analysis to conduct rigorous quantitative research and validate findings.
Candidates should possess proficiency in Data Visualization to present complex information clearly through dashboards, charts, and interactive reports.
Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science (such as Python or R) and experience with libraries and frameworks (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow) are beneficial.
Experience with databases, SQL, and data processing tools, as well as familiarity with cloud or big data platforms, is advantageous.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate analytical results to diverse audiences are required.
A bachelor's or master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field is preferred.
