The Job
As a Database Administrator at Swisslog, your key responsibilities are:
Project activities:
- Installation, troubleshooting and configuration of databases on Unix/Linux and MS Windows platform.
- Installation and configuration Application servers (Weblogic, Wildfly, JBoss)
- Installation of system upgrades (patching) on customer systems (Remote or Onsite)
- Configurating and ensuring high availability of database systems (data guard)
- Data migration from an older DB version to newer version
- Developing and enhancing the backup & restore strategy
- Document changes in the change log and asset management database
Support activities:
- Standby support 24x7, up to 2 weeks/month
- Independent problem analysis e.g., slowness and troubleshooting incident/problem.
- Conduct regular database checks and provide a report including recommendation.
- Adhere to Swisslog processes.
Your Skills and Experience
Your skills and experience:
- Degree in information technology, computer science or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of working experience as a Database Administrator with one of the; following Database:
- Oracle DB,
- MS SQL,
- PostgreSQL.
- Expertise in the development of scripts (SQL, Shell, PL/SQL).
- Expertise in the following application servers: Weblogic, Wildfly and JBoss.
- Proficient in English with strong writing and speaking skills.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and departments.
- Proactive and team player mindset and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and customer oriented.
- Good communication skills, flexibility, and willingness to travel abroad.
- Independent and customer-oriented behavior as well as a high willingness to learn.
Working Domains:
- Technical: OracleDB, MS SQL, PostgreSQL
- Business: Intralogistics
