Deputy Chief Product Owner Agile

JOB SUMMARY

As Deputy Chief Product Owner, you will support Asia Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer in shaping and executing the Global Digital Ecosystem (GDE) strategy and vision across Asia market. You will work closely with local Product Owners and Global Product Managers to design and deliver all component of GDE, including Buy, Service, Claims, Product & Pricing, Data, Finance, Docs/Comms. You will drive strong prioritization to ensure teams are focused on the highest value items across GDE journeys. You will also push for simplification and standardization across markets (where possible) to deliver sustainable value.

You will collaborate with all stakeholders, including Asia business teams, Market and Operational readiness teams and Technology, and will champion a transformational mindset to help move teams from what exists today to what can exist tomorrow.

You will support the Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer in the continued coaching and upskilling of the PO/PA community to grow from business SMEs to strong Product Owners, able to imagine journeys beyond current constrains, design business capabilities, and deliver those in an iterative way, under a high pressure, fast-paced environment.

JOB MAIN FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports Asia Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer to set the strategy and vision for GDE across Asia markets, and communicate to entire team
• Collaborates with Product Owners and Global Product Managers to design and deliver all component of GDE keeping customers at the center (Buy, Service, Claims, Product & Pricing, Data, Finance, Docs/Comms) with regular coordination, communication and support
• Shares responsibility for the full product suite with fellow Product Owners and Global Product Managers, including the drive for simplification and standardization
• Drives prioritization across journeys/functional teams based on value to the business and customer
• Evaluates product progress at each iteration and accepts work completed by the team as meeting business outcome needs
• Coordinates and communicates across architecture, engineering, business shareholders, vendors
• Works to resolve challenges with team, product management and stakeholders
• Works closely with Operational Readiness team to ensure the successful roll out and adoption of GDE in the operation
• Contributes to new product/channel readiness activities and ensures strong plans are in place ahead of delivery
• Represents and makes decisions for the various business functions or business outcomes
• Champions a transformational mindset across Asia market, pushing for new solutions, delivered in an incremental way
• Collaborates with stakeholders and the team to track and feedback progress to a release. Communicates and shares status with program governance
• Coaches POs/PAs in their development journey from business SMEs to strong Product Owner

• Advanced knowledge of Agile development methodologies as typically acquired through a Bachelors' degree in relevant field (business, computer science, humanities etc.). Master's degree would be advantageous.
• Minimum of 5-7 years direct experience with agile teams as well as 7 years in business, technology, or consulting.
• Able to make difficult and quick decisions daily. Problem solver with ability to lead the team to push the solutions and progress.
• Experience in the insurance industry.
• Knowledge of relevant products and portfolio preferred. Experimental mindset to drive innovation amongst uncertainty.
• Capable of being empowered, and possesses the courage to make decisions on key aspects of the design
• Excellent communication, influencing and relationship building skills. Collaborative work ethic.
• Experience working in complex cross-functional or geographically dispersed teams to jointly deliver transformational outcomes
• Deep domain expertise with good appreciation of the various functions that comprise the customer lifecycle
• Understands trends and emerging technologies. Experience and/or understanding of IT change desired but not essential.
• Highly innovative, able to find creative solutions to problems and adapt to new challenges
• Acts with integrity, confidence and accountability at all times. Deals assertively with all levels of management.
