Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE
The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for shaping and executing the strategic roadmap for all digital marketing initiatives, including campaign planning, content development, and marketing technology adoption. The role oversees website optimisation, SEO/SEM activities, paid media, social media engagement, marketing automation, CRM usage, and digital analytics. This position will lead and coach the digital marketing team, drive digital transformation across the department, and apply data-driven insights to optimise performance and deliver impactful results.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Digital Marketing Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that aligns with the institution's broader marketing, communications, and student recruitment objectives.
Lead the creation and rollout of integrated digital campaigns across channels such as SEO/SEM, website, social media, email marketing, paid media, and display advertising to enhance brand visibility and generate leads.
Manage and optimise the digital marketing budget, ensuring efficient resource utilisation and strong ROI.
Work closely with internal teams-including Performance Marketing, Brand, PR, and Marketing Services-to ensure all campaigns are cohesive and effective.
Online Presence & Platform Management
Direct the strategy, governance, and continuous enhancement of the university's website and digital platforms, ensuring consistent branding and excellent digital user experience (DX).
Build and implement strong SEO and SEM frameworks to boost organic reach, improve ranking performance, and drive high-quality traffic.
Marketing Technology, Automation & CRM
Oversee the strategic deployment and optimisation of marketing automation tools and CRM systems to enhance lead nurturing, personalise user engagement, and elevate the end-to-end customer experience.
Lead digital transformation projects within Marketing & Communications, identifying and integrating new technologies to support student recruitment and operational efficiency.
Ensure effective integration of marketing tech stack components to streamline processes and enhance data utilisation.
Digital Analytics, Reporting & Optimisation
Establish a holistic analytics structure using BI tools and reporting frameworks to evaluate digital campaign performance against KPIs.
Interpret digital user behaviour and data insights to uncover trends, opportunities, and areas requiring improvement; present actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
Lead A/B testing and conversion optimisation initiatives across digital channels to improve performance.
Continuously refine digital strategies based on insights to drive engagement, conversions, and user satisfaction.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and support a strong digital marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
Set performance goals, provide structured feedback, and guide team members in their professional development.
Manage relationships with external agencies, technology vendors, and partners to ensure best-in-class service and value.
Innovation & Best Practices
Stay updated on the latest digital marketing innovations, tools, and industry standards.
Advocate for the adoption of new digital approaches and ensure compliance with data protection principles.
Requirement
Male/Female
Education
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Preferred candidates with a Master's degree or relevant professional certifications such as Google Certification, HubSpot Certification, CIM Diploma, etc.
Requirements
Minimum 5-6 years of experience in digital marketing, with a strong track record of designing and executing comprehensive and successful digital strategies and campaigns.
At least 3 years of managerial experience, directly leading and developing a digital marketing team.
Strong expertise and hands-on experience in:
Managing digital channels strategically: website, SEO/SEM, paid media, social media, email marketing.
Planning and optimising digital marketing budgets to maximise ROI.
Using marketing automation platforms (HubSpot, Marketo, Pardot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud...) and CRM systems such as Salesforce.
Web analytics tools (Google Analytics...) and data visualisation tools.
Implementing SEO/SEM strategies with measurable improvement results.
Managing complex digital advertising campaigns across Google Ads, Meta Ads, LinkedIn Ads, etc.
Developing multi-channel content strategies and enhancing digital experience (DX).
Managing and coordinating with external agencies and technology partners.
Knowledge of the international higher education sector is an advantage.
Direct experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud / Marketing Cloud is preferred.
Basic understanding of front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript is a plus.
