- Establishes Environmental and Social Management system and procedures

- Implements Contractor's Environmental and Social Management Plan and Procedures

- Ensures all work is done according to the Plan and Procedure



General coordination:

ü Prepares Project Management Reviews from the Environmental aspect,

ü Takes part in internal work meetings,

ü Performs Environmental Audits by agreement with the Project Management, and keeps an up-to-date schedule of such audits,

ü Prepares the Environmental Plan and the Project Environmental Management Procedures and monitors their updating,

ü Puts in place the Project Environment Management System and, by random survey, sees to its application,

ü Reviews the Project Execution Procedures from the Environment and Social aspects,

ü Ensures that the specifications of the Contract and the Environmental and Social Management Plan are taken into account by the construction methods offices,

ü Explains the Project Environment Management System to the various players involved, and motivate them to act with environmental awareness;

ü Organizes and coordinates Environment and Social campaigns, reception, and staff information and training, especially for newly hired staff,

ü Takes part, with the Site Managers, in drawing up the Environment specifications or requirements for hazardous materials and products,

ü Defines the emergency plans in conjunction with the organizations concerned and checks the dependability of the emergency plans by appropriate exercises,

ü Ensures that the Management promotes awareness among Project supervisory staff of the Environment and Social approach and the Employer's requirements,

ü Transmits information that could help improve the effectiveness of the System, due to the operation of the Project (corrective actions, preventive actions, improvement actions, management reviews at the Entity or Project level, etc.).



Resources

ü Defines his personnel and equipment needs,

ü Takes part in recruiting his personnel and supplements its training in the Environment and Social approach,



Purchasing

ü Takes part in meetings with the Subcontractors and Suppliers,

ü Carries out surveys, assessment visits, and Environment and Social audits of Subcontractors,

ü Describes Environment Management obligations to the Subcontractors and Suppliers and keeps at their disposal the Contractor's Safety documents,

ü Checks, by random survey, the effectiveness of the safety control system established by them and gives his recommendations to correct litigious aspects,

ü Reviews the Environment documents of the Subcontractors before forwarding them to the Employer for observations,

ü Forwards to the Subcontractors of the Employer's observations for amendment of their Environment documents.



Employer's Project Manager's Representative (EPMR) and Authorities

ü Describes the Project Environment and Social approach to the EPMR,

ü Is the main correspondent of the EPMR and outside authorities for the Project Environment and Social Management System,

ü Draws up the acceptance reports for products supplied by the EPMR and informs the EPMR in writing of any problem relating to those products.

ü Maintain cooperation with the internal/external environmental experts in the management of the environment of the project;

ü Maintain contact and communication with authorities and organizations;

ü Accompany environment authorities in site inspection, and ensure full compliance with legal requirements;

ü Generate regular environmental reports to internal and external instances.



Site

ü Draws up the monthly Environment and Social reports,

ü Ensures the establishment of internal control and checks, by random survey, the effectiveness of the system used for the Contractor's specific activities,

ü Assists the executive managers in establishing the inspection plans,

ü Formalizes the action plan due to any deviation sheets issued during the internal or external audit and ensures that it is applied,

ü Checks, by random survey before the execution that execution is carried out with documents of their latest revision No. and checks that out-of-date documents are destroyed or visibly canceled,

ü Takes part in analyzing non-conformities and proposing corrections, determining the causes of non-conformities, and corrective and preventive actions,

ü Keeps an up-to-date library of Environment standards and regulations applicable to the Contract,

ü Ensures the closing of monitoring documents, before acceptance of the part of the Project in question,

ü Takes part in regular inspections of the Project, establishes a report on decisions and monitors their execution,

ü Analyses work Items in progress to detect any risks and proposes solutions for improvement,

ü Ensures the cleanliness of the Project installations (cloakrooms, washrooms, canteens) and the surrounds (fences and car parks),

ü Analyses all accidents, incidents, and near misses,

ü Keeps an up-to-date Environment file for the Project.
