About the Position
The Experienced Apparel Merchandiser - FOB Costing & Sample Development is responsible for handling FOB programs from initial costing and sample development through order confirmation. The role requires strong costing capability, effective supplier and factory coordination, independent buyer communication, and close teamwork with internal and external stakeholders to ensure development requirements and timelines are met.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare FOB costing, including fabric, trims, CM, washing, embroidery, printing, and packing costs, and update costing sheets for internal review and buyer negotiation.
Coordinate sample development (proto, fit, PP, SMS), including requesting materials, tracking progress, collecting buyer feedback, and obtaining timely approvals.
Source and evaluate suppliers and factories for fabrics, trims, accessories, and production services to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, suppliers, and factory counterparts to facilitate smooth communication and issue resolution.
Manage and follow up on development schedules, Time & Action (T&A) calendars, and sample approvals to ensure timely delivery against deadlines.
Clarify tech pack details, BOM, measurements, specifications, and comments with buyers and translate requirements to internal teams and suppliers.
Maintain accurate records including costing sheets, sample status, development approvals, order updates, and internal tracking tools.
Support pre-production activities by checking lab dips, trims, accessories, and production readiness as needed.
Communicate with buyers and internal stakeholders on progress, issues, and risk mitigation, and participate in meetings as required.

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for candidates who:
Have at least 3-5 years of experience in apparel merchandising, with solid experience in FOB costing and development
Graduated with a major in Garment Technology, Fashion Design, Business Administration, or related fields
Have good knowledge of garment construction, materials, sourcing, and FOB costing structure
Are able to communicate and read/write in English with buyers and suppliers
Have good teamwork and communication skills
Are detail-oriented, responsible, and able to work independently under pressure.
