Finance Accounting Assistant Manager

WHAT THIS POSITION IS ABOUT - PURPOSE
You are responsible for the financial accounting operations of JTI Vietnam and Distributors. This entails coordinating the Company's general accounting activities, treasury transactions, tax, audit and full compliance with Organization's Operating Guidelines and JSOX Requirements.
WHAT WILL YOU DO - RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Accounting and Reporting:

• Ensures accounting activities/ processes (JTI Vietnam, the local Factory and Distributors) are performed in accordance with local statutory accounting principles, requirements of the Vietnam Tax Department and compliance with US GAAP requirements for JTI Group reporting purposes in timely and accurately as per Global guidelines.
• Manage and oversee Shared Service teams to successfully deliver monthly closings of the local consolidation system, ensuring critical Zone and business timelines are met.
• Maintain updated of changes to Vietnam's related statutory requirements especially on tax & accounting; communicate changes to all interested parties.
• Accountable for external audit and Tax computation for Head-Quarter in Singapore.

Business Partnering:

• Constantly observe Distributor accounting practices to identify areas for improvements, liaise with Distributors effectively to maximize values for business & frontier functions yet in best compliance with local regulation & internal standards.
• Closely liaise with internal customers across departments to understand their business objectives, timely and (pro-)actively identify their needs/constraints and therefore propose adding- value advice, solutions.
• Get involved in setting up internal processes & policies for new initiatives as requested from other functions, support ad hoc requirements if any.
• Be the Power User for company systems such as Purchasing Solutions, Concur, etc.

Free Cash-Flow:

• Frequently review Distributors' Monthly Cash requirements and take necessary procedures to ensure efficient funding requirements and optimization of cashflows.
• Jointly manage Market Free-Cash Flow with Planning team in various stages, from development to implementation, education, on-going maintenance of actuals vs. KPIs.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Take ownership to maintain proper JTI Vietnam Operating Guidelines, perform periodic reviews so as to incorporate changes to fulfil changing business operational needs and alignment with JTI Group Operating Guidelines.
• Take a lead in execution of internal control compliance and strive to cultivate a compliance culture within the organization and support Business Process Owners to identify risks in business process & procedure and prepare appropriate, complete action plans.

• Performs any assignment/ project as may be assigned by the Finance Director.
• People management (if applicable)
